12 APRIL - 14 JULY
WELCOME We’re thrilled to announce the return of Udderbelly Festival to Southbank Centre for a 5th consecutive year. If you haven’t been to the festival before, it’s very simple - we cram a big upside-down purple cow with comedy, circus, theatre and family shows and let it graze on the bank of the Thames until mid-July. Nearly all of our tickets are between £10 and £20 and we guarantee that there is something for everyone. Come and watch brilliant new circus in Flown or the UK’s first circus talent competition, Circus Maximus. Do what tens of thousands of people have already done and buy a ticket to The Boy With Tape On His Face, fresh from a Christmas run in the West End. Or tuck in to over 50 comedy shows. We couldn’t do any of this without our partners, Southbank Centre, and you, our audience. Thank you to everyone who has supported the festival in the last four years and we thank you in advance for making Udderbelly Festival at Southbank Centre THE place to be this spring and summer.

FESTIVAL OF THE SPOKEN NERD
ANDY ZALTZMAN: POLITICAL ANIMAL
Stand-up mathematician Matt Parker, geek songstress Helen Arney and Britain’s Brightest experiments guy Steve Mould host a show for the fearlessly inquisitive with their evening of comedy, science, music, maths, live experiments and unashamed geekiness. Joyous, anarchic and infinitely enjoyable - even for those of us who were allergic to the school science lab.
Political Animal, the nation’s only and probably best political stand-up gig, comes to Udderbelly Festival at Southbank Centre, to harangue and cajole a very naughty planet. Hosted by the undisputed, sporadically acclaimed, Andy Zaltzman (half of Times Online’s hit podcast, The Bugle and star of Andy Zaltzman’s History of the Third Millennium, Series 1 of 100 for Radio 4 and Yes! It’s The Ashes for BBC Radio 5 Live), and featuring two outstanding bills of top-class comedians, this show leaves no hot potato unbuttered.

GINA YASHERE LAUGHING TO AMERICA
2012 was a momentous year for Gina. She witnessed the triumph of the London Olympics... OK, from her couch in Los Angeles, but still has much to say. She was able to finally let go of one of her biggest regrets... that she never got a Jim’ll Fix It badge. She discovered she could destroy a policeman’s self esteem with the word ‘ pleb’. And finally and most momentous of all... Gina was forced to purchase reading glasses. You better believe she has ALOT to say about that. This will be a 12 month round-up like you’ve never heard before.
Described by the Daily Mail as ‘the most sophisticated drugs baron of all time’, Howard Marks has worked with the British Secret Service, been in prison in America, and his memoirs have become best-sellers around the world. SIMON MUNNERY FYLM-MAKKER
HAL CRUTTENDEN TOUGH LUVVIE
Following stand out performances on Live At The Apollo (BBC1) and The Royal Variety Performance (ITV1), Hal is being strongly tipped as the next big thing. Hal’s comedy is simultaneously warm and catty, straight and camp; it’s a lovely mix that has made him a regular guest on John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky1) and led to not one, but two sitcoms being produced this year.

Experimenting with a tiny camera and big screen, Simon Munnery is Fylm-Makker. Presenting a beautiful mix of visual sketches, handcrafted animation, music and stand-up, all created and performed live on screen. This is ‘one of the most consistently original and imaginative minds in comedy’ (Guardian) at his most rewarding, enthralling and avantgarde best.
