About VIP Formed in 1998, Volunteers for Ideas and Projects (VIP) is a non-governmental, nonprofit, voluntary organization consisting exclusively of students from the Bucharest universities. The 12 years of experience and continuous improvement helped us create the most performant program for training students outside the academic environment. Our achievements until now include 50 national and international projects, with over 8000 candidates and 1000 participants. The VIP community, formed of over 100 active members and 450 Alumni, develop every year over 10 personal and professional development projects. VIP’s mission, which is to transform the potential into exceptional, as well as its vision – exceptional people cand make a change in the society – don’t only concern the members of the organization, because the projects involve a considerable number of students who don’t belong to VIP. Through its activity, VIP tries to ease the involvement in society’s issues to as many students as possible, to offer them the means of building a career, a future and, last but not least, an European country. The values we believe in and which we promote are: • Initiative • Team spirit • Leadership • Professionalism

Anca Ioan, CEO Ţiriac Holding After meeting you I realize that the 21st century <has started well>. I’ll be glad when we’ll all live in a better world. Good luck!”
Mircea Vasilescu, “Dilema” ‘s Editor in Chief
VIP’s structure resembles the one of a company, so that every activity completes the other and that the members can communicate more easily and efficiently. There are 6 departments and 3 project communities, in order to allow each member to turn their skills and knowledge to advantage. The departments (Marketing, Sales, Public Relations, Financial, Human Resources and External Relations) facilitate and streamline the work, while the three project communities take into account the interests the members have in personal development (Leadership Development), entrepreneurship (Business Club) and macroeconomics (Econosofia). Econosofia is for those who have a real passion for economics, who posses polemical spirit, who are open minded and always informed. More than anything, Econosofia is a dynamic environment for constant development and learning, with a precise target and measurable results. Business Club is the meeting place for students who are passionate about business and entrepreneurship, who want to learn more about these fields and, above all, who want to apply what they learn.

„Romania in the 21st Century” Summer School The 11th Edition
The Summer School “Romania in the 21st Century “ , now at its 11th edition, is the first project Volunteers for Ideas and Projects created. For two weeks, the Summer School brings together the best students of the academic world and, through conferences and workshops on fields such as economy, business, politics and society, creates a dialogue between the students and Romania’s leaders. Each year we approach a new theme through which we try to solve an issue found among Romanian students. In 2011, the European Year of Volunteering, the Summer School “Romania in the 21st Century “ will be based on public participation. Our goal is to change the attitude of young individuals towards involvement in civil society, with an accent on the role of volunteering in their personal and professional development. At the end of these two weeks, participants, organized in teams, will be offered the chance of putting their newly obtained knowledge to use by developing a project, which will be implemented on Public Participation Day. www.scoaladevara.com

Internal Projects The paper called “Carevasăzică” Creating a paper has been an ambition inside VIP for several years, but this year it is becoming real. The name of the publication is “Carevasăzică” and it will have two editions, one in February and another in May. After these two editions, the paper will return in autumn with a new edition. The paper engages a publishing team composed not only by VIP members, but also by collaborating students from universities in Bucharest, from journalism, design, architecture, literature and even well-known journalists. The subjects will revolve around the small, yet crucial factors, which define us both as individuals and as social beings. We will organize a launching event for the publication, where we will be distributing around 250 copies, but after that the first number will only be available online. The annual promotion campaign Starting this year, a new direction was created within VIP, that communicates the identity of our organization. We address the students that believe in the VIP values and want to be part of the activities that complete the theoretical notions they learn during their university courses, our partners that supported us all these years and also other student NGO’s. We want to show everyone that we believe in exceptional people who together are more powerful!
