UP ISLAND VALENTINE

VIR Member, John Clark

On Saturday, March 12 some Up Island members enjoyed a belated Valentine’s luncheon social at Courtenay’s Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community. We enjoyed each other’s company, but few Porsches attended as the weather was cold, rainy and blustery. Members from the Comox Valley, Campbell River, Qualicum Beach and Parksville attended.

Up Island Director Wendy Woodley had the event well planned and a few brave members told stories about meeting their long time partners. The always brave Roslyn Nickel navigated a complicated story of husband Dave losing their engagement ring in a Dairy Queen recycling container . . . never to be seen again!!

Richard Deluca, a Comox Valley member provided his business pens, which also have a very handy light, to all our members. Thanks Richard.

A tasty lunch was enjoyed by all attendees with a delicious Valentine’s Black Forest Cake. Members sorted through the available complimentary gifts, mainly from Porsche Centre Victoria, plus some from Dan Ryan, a former VIR member.

Thanks to Zoe and John’s presentation and display, $200 was raised to assist the struggle in Ukraine. The ever thoughtful Wendy gifted the ladies in attendance with a wine glass of their choice and a rose to take home. A fine time was had by all.

John
