FOREWORD The refugee crises has grown to become a global issue and a recurrent phenomena of our modern world. Every single day, thousands of people are forced to leave their livelihood. The tragic events which occured in Cambodia, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Venezuela, Honduras, Mexico, Afghanistan, Myanmar or Syria have sent millions on the roads to save their lives. We should not forget the outburst of violence, the unbearable situations which triggered the migration of each and every one of these individuals. All these people share a fate : the fate of the exodus. Considered in a row, all these poignant stories and pictures create a painful impression of déjà-vu. It seems, indeed, that History does repeat itself when it comes to its worst... Our photographic project has an educational aim and humanistic ambitions. Not only is it supposed to raise awareness amongst the younger generations, as they will be the leaders of tomorrow; but it also appeals to every citizen, in the sense that we all need to participate in the current debates. Our actions must be led with empathy and dignity. It is our shared duty to respond to these dramatic situations, to bring justice to those who have been wronged and deprived of their human rights. Therefore, we are compelled to share that we capture. The exhibition Exodus Déjà-Vu showcases the work of twelve famous photojournalists and award-winning photographers who have closely followed and documented the conflicts and the perilous journey of refugees throughout time, sharing a glimpse of the daily struggles experienced by those deprived of their human rights. Two generations of international reporters are reunited on the basis of their joint efforts to alert on the inhuman condition they witnessed all over the world : Coşkun Aral (TUR), Suthep Kritsanavarin (THA), Issa Touma (SY), Roland Neveu (FR), Sergey Ponomarev (RU), Rahman Roslan (MY), Greg Constantine (CA), Jean Chung (KOR) Yalda Moaiery (IR) Guillermo Arias (MEX), Fabiola Ferrero (VEN), and Atilgan Ozdil (TUR). Each photographer brings his own masterpieces and testimony of the events. Together, we consider it our mission to unveil and put forward in Exodus Déjà-Vu the reality of millions. Patrice Vallette

ABOUT EXODUS DEJA-VU Exodus DĂŠjĂ -Vu is the non-benefit project we have been powering since 2016. It showcases the work of twelve renowned photojournalists and award-winning photographers who have closely followed and captured the perilous journeys of refugees throughout time. Two generations of international photographers are united under the same banner, each of them bringing their own photographs and their knowledge on major events. to date, we have presented the exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Ankara, Istanbul, Bangkok and Chiang Mai, with the continuous contributions of the UNHCR, many different institutions and NGOs like Amnesty International, Asylum, various Embassies in the relevant regions, and the constant support of Anadolu Agency, our main communication sponsor.
EXODUS-DEJA VU GOES DIGITAL The pandemic has accelerated the need for us to rethink the way we produce and implement the project, which it turns out to be a great opportunity: digital allows us to reach a wider audience while keeping the content relevent and accessible globally. It becomes an innovative platform of interaction through interviews and direct exchange with the photojournalists. This edition of Exodus Déjà-Vu is unique and has an important impact on media and communication, to create awareness on refugees crisis. Moreover, it develops a widespread panel of discussion from around the world. Exodus has the ambition to continue in a completely nonprofit way. It’s a project which needs support and partnerships. Hundreds of new visitors reach the site every week and the project uses a different system to showcase the work of the photographers involved. In conjunction with the World Refugee Day. Exodus Déjà-Vu was schedule to be in New York on the 20th of June. As this event unfortunately could not take place, Visioncy siezed the opportunity to create a worldwide online event. hence, online 3D exhibition of Exodus Déjà-Vu, was launched, sharing our content with everyone. A series of multilingual live interviews with our international photojournalists, were uploaded on various social and online platforms to provide the public with insights on the depicted refugee crises and the challenges of photojournalism.

16.06.2020 for Anadolou Agency
Touring photographic exhibition 'Exodus Déjà-Vu once again highlights perilous journey of refugees They say a picture paints a thousand words. For the unseen, or those forced to live in the shadows, bringing their stories to light can make all the difference. In conjunction with World Refugee Day (June 20), the faces and perilous journeys the displaced have endured, and are still going through daily due to violence, discrimination, war and famine, etc., is now brought to the fore once more with Exodus Déjà-Vu. The founder of Visioncy Agency and curator of the exhibition points out, “Yes, there is a pandemic and chaos around the world that has the world’s attention right now, but all the more we should not forget that many more are living unbearable lives, waiting.” It is an emergency, he says unequivocally, adding that governments and people can tell themselves there are more urgent issues to deal with, like the economy, but “how can we survive collectively, if we continue to ignore the weakest?” Exodus Déjà-Vu can make for uncomfortable viewing, as it confronts us with a reality that many think do not exist, this writer included. But perhaps it is something we can no longer look away from, or walk away without reflection at least, that we are all vulnerable. By Mae Chan - 20.06.2020 for The Edge
