Urban Mobility for a reliable, comfortable and affordable commute...

DELHI TRANSIT

A Note from The Managing Director It gives me great pleasure to present a brief overview about Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System Ltd (DIMTS), a Joint Venture Company set up with equal-equity of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) & the Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd. (IDFC). The Government of Delhi has embarked upon an ambitious programme of promoting an integrated public transport system that not only addresses the question of congestion but also promotes safe, reliable, efficient, environmental friendly and accessible public transport. One of the main objectives has been to create high quality infrastructure that motivates people to shift to public transport. The policy adopted by GNCTD since 2004 involves the development of a multi- modal transit system. Delhi's multi-modal transport system is envisaged to include the Metro, Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail, Monorail, and improved pedestrian and cycle access. DIMTS plays an instrumental role in meeting the challenges which are aplenty towards the fulfilment of this policy. Going through this document, you will discover the key strengths of the organisation and the formidable array of projects being handled by the exceptionally qualified team at DIMTS. Further to assisting GNCTD in its initiatives, DIMTS also intends to leverage its knowledge base and expertise in assisting other cities/city managers in effectively addressing urban transportation issues. I along with the team at DIMTS, truly believe that access to safe and efficient public transport is not just the right of residents of Delhi, but of citizens of any city across India.
