Experience the spirit of Brighton There’s a positive atmosphere in Brighton. The city by the sea has a passion for creativity, a desire to look at things differently, and a friendliness that attracts visitors from all over the world. Whether it’s the sea air that changes your perspective, or the lively North Laine that buzzes day and night, or the mish-mash of people, Brighton’s got that special something that will inspire you. 2
3
Our city has it all One thing delegates love about our city is its vibrancy and best-of-all-worlds lifestyle. Whether it’s the sea air, the South Downs National Park, or our year-round festivals – there’s something for everyone. We’ve even got a Royal Palace built as a monument to decadence – proof that we’ve been at the forefront of entertainment and hospitality for over 200 years.
4
5
We’re a foot-friendly city The beauty of Brighton is that everything is on your doorstep. It takes 10 minutes to walk from the station to the seafront hotels, or from Brighton Pier to the West Pier or from the Brighton Centre to the Royal Pavilion. And if you go on a 10-minute walk in any direction, you’ll walk past more shops and restaurants than you can shake a stick of rock at. 6
7
8
We have a green heart Brighton is well-known for its green values and its low carbon economy, so it makes sense that our hotels and conference venues are always improving their carbon footprints too. We strive to balance the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, public transport users and motorists. On top of that, we’re home to the largest organic retailer in the country, various local food co-operatives and electric car initiatives.
9
A bite and a browse From the big brand names of the high street to the personal welcome in the buzzing boutiques of The Lanes, there’s no shortage of shops in Brighton. Feeling hungry? Brighton has almost as many restaurants as it has pebbles on the beach, from authentic Indian to chic vegetarian to good old fish’n’chips.
10

Situated in The Lanes a few yards from the seafront, Hotel du Vin’s 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings, erected by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. They came, they saw, they left inspired… Organisers and delegates all agree: holding a conference in Brighton couldn’t be easier or more enjoyable… the results speak for themselves. “ VisitBrighton narrowed down the venues in the area to those that matched my specification for our event. Having Lynn accompany me on the first venue visits also helped me gain more knowledge about the area. Having used similar organisations in other parts of the UK, I can truly say that VisitBrighton are up there with the best.” Allison Lock, Communications & Events Manager Institute of Chartered Foresters
“ The service from VisitBrighton was excellent, many good suggestions and plenty of support during the planning.” Sabine Faisst, Project Administrator The Brighton Collaboration, Switzerland
36
“ Our delegates simply loved Brighton. The meeting theme, ‘Serious Fun’, truly captured the essence of our conference and the uniqueness of Brighton. Smiling was contagious at this conference – in no small part due to the charm and quirkiness of Brighton.” Mark H. Epstein ScD, Executive Secretary International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering
“ Brighton is an excellent destination for conferences and we were ably supported by VisitBrighton who set up a dedicated accommodation booking site for us.” Huw Davies, Chief Executive British Association for Supported Employment
