A Young Adult's Guide to Butler County, PA

What I’ve learned about living in Butler County as a young adult is that your twenties are all about you. While living in the area, you must travel around, explore new places, and try new things while you have the time. After all, it is important to find residency in a place that brings out the best in you. As a resident or a visitor to this dynamic county, you are spoiled for choices when it comes to finding your favorite activities. Whether you’re seeking outdoor escapades, exploring the vibrant arts and cultural scene, or indulging in the local cuisine and nightlife, Butler County has it all. There is no shortage of opportunities to create unforgettable memories. So, dive into my top three favorite activities and attractions that have made my time in my twenties truly remarkable.

Personally, I am a very active person and love to be outdoors. One of my favorite activities to do during some extra free time is mini golf. A little competition never hurts anybody! Mars-Bethel Golf located in Mars has provided me with countless memories of some good-old-fashioned outdoor fun. Not only do they offer mini golf, but there is a large, hilly course of soccer golf! You’re never too old for activities like these and being able to finish the activity with some delicious ice cream is the true cherry on top!

As the sun goes down, and the nightlife begins, one of my favorite places to hang out with friends is North Park Lounge (NPL). In this one place, there are so many options. NPL has a restaurant full of delicious food with a wonderful sports bar atmosphere. My personal favorite is the Bamboo Bar located right behind the restaurant with a sand Volleyball Court, tabletop Jenga, firepits, and so much more. There is definitely something for everyone at NPL. On the other hand, life can get stressful. With college coming to an end, senior year courses looming, and the job search coming soon, it is important to relax, recharge and destress. One of my favorite activities to help me do so is painting or coloring. With that being said, I enjoy stopping at Steele's Brushes and Ceramics. They provide an array of options to channel your artistic side. I personally like to paint wood signs or grab a blank canvas and let the creative juices flow.

As I prepare to enter “the real world”, thanks to Butler County, I take with me cherished moments and appreciation for the remarkable experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. Butler County will always hold a special place in my heart and I eagerly look forward to growing with this county. The future is bright for both of us.
