Jennings Environmental Education Center

JENNINGS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER

Located in Slippery Rock, Jennings is a unique combination of prairie and forest. It is the only public and protected prairie in Pennsylvania and features the endangered Massasauga rattlesnake. Visitors can enjoy hikes on the five-mile trail system. The most popular time to visit is July, when the blazing star is in bloom.

Located in Middlesex Township, this 50-acre man-made lake is surrounded by 100 acres of natural forest and farmlands. Used for recreation, conservation and education, this beautiful lake offers fishing, hiking, birding, winter activities, paddling, and electric-powered boating.

Alameda Park offers a variety of recreational activities including playgrounds, picnic areas, a dek hockey rink, baseball fields, and a community waterpark. The newest addition to the park is the 20-mile mountain bike and hiking trail system.

Todd Nature Reserve, Merri Carbo

TODD NATURE RESERVE

Located in Sarver, this 334-acre park consists of six miles of hiking trails, three streams, and a manmade pond. Todd Nature Reserve is Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania's (ASWP) first reserve and is part of Pennsylvania Audubon's Buffalo Valley Important Bird Area Program.

BUFFALO CREEK NATURE PARK

ASWP’s newest location (opened in 2021) is located between Little Buffalo Creek and the Butler-Freeport Community Trail. Free, naturalist-led 'Birds and More' walks take place every Tuesday at 9 AM. This property also features Babcock Nature Center and a nature play area. Check out the nature store!

Succop Nature Park, Laura Kosht

SUCCOP NATURE PARK

Succop Nature Park sprawls throughout 50 acres of woodlands, gardens, and lush meadows. Located in Penn Township, the property features two ponds, dog-friendly walking trails, and open natural spaces that can be used for a variety of activities. The park provides a beautiful backdrop for weddings and special events.
