After two years of redevelopment, the National Horseracing Museum is completing it’s exciting move to Palace House, the location of the new National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art. The centre will include a new museum that celebrates the history and science of horseracing, a national gallery of British sporting art and the opportunity to see thoroughbred horses as part of the visitor experience. HOW TO GET HERE By Train

By Bus

There is a fast and frequent rail service from London Kingâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Cross and London Liverpool Street through to Cambridge. There are excellent connections from Scotland and the north via Peterborough and regional services from Birmingham and the Midlands, East Anglia and the Northwest. For bus services from Cambridge Railway Station into the city centre look for the Citi 1, Citi 3 or Citi 7 services.

Stagecoach operates a comprehensive service to the city from around the county. Please visit stagecoachbus.com for full details. The Guided Busway offers an innovative and frequent service from Huntingdon to the city centre including stops at the Rail Station and Addenbrookes Hospital. Park & Ride sites for this service can be found at St Ives, Longstanton and Trumpington. Please visit www.thebusway.info for full details.

By Road From the South and from London, Cambridge is a short trip up the M11 motorway. From the north, the A1 and M1 link to the A14 dual carriageway straight to the city and from the east and west, the A14 again takes you to Cambridge. For short stay trips the City Centre Car Parks offer great convenience, but for longer visits there are five first class Park & Ride sites located on the outskirts of the city that provide a swift and frequent bus ride to the City Centre.

By Air Just three miles from the city centre, Cambridge International Airport provides daily scheduled direct flights to a range of European destinations. London Stansted is just 30 miles to the south of the city with London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Luton and Birmingham International Airport also within easy reach.

By Sea By Coach National Express operates coach services to Cambridge from major towns and cities throughout the UK. There are frequent coach services from both Central London and London Stansted Airport through to the city. The X5 Cross Country Stagecoach service links Oxford to Cambridge, via Bicester, Buckingham, and Milton Keynes and Bedford.

Cambridge is located just 67 miles from Harwich that links to the Hook of Holland.

Shopmobility Cambridge offers you two Shopmobility centres to help you make your shopping visit to the city as easy and enjoyable as possible. Shopmobility is a scheme to provide electric powered scooters, wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs to help people who have limited mobility – through permanent or temporary disablement, illness, accident or age – to shop and use the other facilities within Cambridge. There are two Shopmobility offices in Cambridge: On the lower ground floor of the Grand Arcade car park, level -1. The site provides easy access to the city centre, Grand Arcade and John Lewis. On the fourth floor of the Grafton East car park, entrance on East Road. The site provides easy access to the Grafton Centre, Fitzroy and Burleigh Street. Both Shopmobility offices are open Monday to Saturday, 10am–5pm. The Grafton office is open Sundays, 11am–4pm. If you are arriving by bus, Park & Ride or taxi, they can meet customers from the Bus Station and bus stops.

Other useful information – Guided Tours All types of tours can be catered for both individuals and groups. No charge will be made for escorts of wheelchair users. The Official Guided Tours Department at the Visitor Information Centre has experienced guides to escort physically disabled, blind and visually impaired people. Advanced notice is necessary though.
