Franklin is every foodie’s dream. From classic chicken and waffles to pho, you’ll find a wide variety of unique local restaurants and food trucks you have to try during your visit. Go on a culinary adventure with our top recommendations!

BREAKFAST, BRUNCH & COFFEE

When it comes to breakfast, you can’t go wrong in Franklin. The weekly Franklin Farmer’s Market is a local favorite and has excellent breakfast options, including many food trucks and vendors. Try Califarmia’s blackened chicken biscuit or the SoCal grits bowl with local sausage and avocado. If you want a classic diner-style breakfast, Franklin Mercantile in downtown Franklin is the place to go!

Biscuit Love’s charming downtown Franklin location is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy homemade biscuits with fried chicken (like the East Nasty) with an order of bonuts (fried biscuit dough with lemon mascarpone). Another great local brunch option is Frothy Monkey’s loaded biscuits and chorizo sausage, make-your-own omelet, a variety of freshly made sandwiches, and more.

Franklin has no shortage of fantastic coffee shops, many of which roast their beans in-house! Try the roosevelt at Honest Coffee, High Brow Coffee + Tea’s Bourbon Caramel Latte, or seasonal drinks at Curio Brewing Co.

LUNCH & SWEET TREATS

It’s not a trip to Franklin without trying hot chicken! Head over to Mojo’s Tacos at The Factory at Franklin to try their amazing hot chicken taco, or get a classic hot chicken and sides plate at Bishop’s Meat & 3. If hot chicken isn’t your thing, there are a variety of great options at either spot.

The Grilled Cheeserie is a must-eat destination for any visit to Franklin. Enjoy incredible gourmet grilled cheese, house-made soups, milkshakes, and more. The B&B of Tennessee sandwich (with peach jam and bacon) and tater tots are favorites! Vui’s Kitchen has incredible Bahn

Mi sandwiches, pho, noodle bowls, and more if you’re in the mood for fresh Vietnamese food. Favorites here

include the pork belly Bahn mi, Vui’s original pho, and summer rolls!

If you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss local gems like Triple Crown Bakery and Merridee’s Breadbasket. Triple Crown Bakery has incredible pastries, cakes, and cookies, including French-style macarons and homemade

pop tarts. Merridee’s is a Franklin institution, with their extensive menu including classic Southern desserts such as chess pie, seven-layer bars, and pecan pie.

DINNER & DRINKS

Head to 55 South to enjoy their unique Southerninspired cuisine that includes local favorites like crab fries and chicken and waffles. Sit outside and take in your surroundings on historic Main Street! Before you turn in for the night, relax with a nightcap at Gray’s on Main, 1799 Kitchen & Cocktails, or O’ Be Joyful. Try the Anthym Spirit at Gray’s on Main or a classic old fashioned at O’ Be Joyful.

For great local burgers and beer, Burger Up has you covered. Try their amazing Ramsey burger (with pimento cheese and Benton’s bacon) with a side of truffle fries. For an upscale farm-to-table meal, 1892 in Leiper’s Fork is an unforgettable experience. There’s something for everyone on the curated menu here, from shrimp & grits to pork chops and Southern sides.
