VISITHAMILTONCOUNTY.COM
Welcome to Hamilton County, Indiana! In Hamilton County, your path, itinerary and decisions are yours to own. We simply offer to tell you the stories of the people, eats and experiences we love. We all eat to live, but food should be fun. We believe dinner should be experienced, not had. Brunch is an official meal in Hamilton County. “Craft” and “beer” are two words almost always used in the same sentence. In Hamilton County, “art and culture” looks a little more like “creation and cultivation.” Artists, creative dabblers and curiosity seekers find a comfortable place to mingle at Noblesville’s Nickel Plate Arts. Plein air painters, sculptors and mixed media mavens congregate in the Carmel Arts and Design District.
It’s not easy being green, but with acres of parks and miles of trails, being green isn’t too difficult from our point of view. There’s no better way to see Hamilton County than on your own two feet, wheels or watercraft. We’ve no shortage of oxygen here, so use as much as you’d like. All of our seats are good, but especially those at our concert venues. With outdoor concerts happening every day of the week, summer in Hamilton County is like a season-long music festival. This travel guide is just that—a guide, not a command. Leave room for surprises. Go at your own pace. But if you could only do one thing while you’re here, it would be this: savor the present.
“One of the fastest growing counties in Indiana is also adding to the number of fun and unique family activities it already has to offer.”

Shop the local boutiques that straddle 116th street, enjoy family-friendly concerts at the Nickel Plate Amphitheater and be the first to try new brews at Four Day Ray Brewing or small plates at LouVino. And there’s more “new” on the way: Indiana’s first TopGolf facility and IKEA store will open in late 2017. “Conner Prairie is something you don’t find everywhere. It’s a 1400-acre interactive, living history museum. Open year round, kids can learn about life in 1800s Indiana through hands-on experiences, like tossing a tomahawk, walking on stilts, or helping a local craftsman. This village is like going back in time and seeing what life was like when the pioneers settled this area, which can be a big eye-opener for a lot of kids.”

The pulled pork sandwich is one of the best I've ever had (and I've had pulled pork from St. Louis). It's reasonably priced for how good the food is. You can tell they love and care of food."

MUDBUGS CAJUN CAFE, CARMEL “This was a last minute decision to stop and we didn't regret it. The Shrimp Etouffe was rich and spicy. The Crawfish Casserole was full of crawfish. It wasn't spicy but had nice layers of flavor. The hush puppies aren't big but nicely sweet with bits of corn in them. The servings aren't overwhelming in size but certainly enough to fill you up. The service was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very good pick and worth another trip.”
