BOXING Make history all over again by holding your event at the home of the first ever World Heavyweight Prize Fight in the U.S. This historic Prize Fight was held in Jefferson Parish on May 10, 1870. The Main Arena has fixed arena seating for 2,000 patrons. The NBA sized (94’ x 50’) hardwood floor makes this hall the ideal venue for basketball and volleyball events. Additional floor seating can be added for events, such as concerts, boxing or cheerleading. The Alario Center has hosted numerous national and international sporting events, including the 2003 Mountain Dew College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Basketball Championships (televised nationally on ESPN), the 2000 U.S.A.
