Kingston Christmas Lights Switch On 19 Nov 3pm–6.30pm
Come along to Kingston’s traditional Christmas Lights Switch On and take a journey into the spinetingling world of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic, ‘A Christmas Carol’. This year will see Dickensian magicians, Victorian sideshows and a delectable Christmas Market all come together to create a fantastic festive day for the whole family. Entertainment will be plentiful, from the roguish chaps of the Fanshaw Emporium, who can read your minds and intrigue to the finest and funniest order, Acafella – a 6 piece male vocal group who will delight with their modern twist on traditional Christmas carols, The Caravan Of Lost Souls, which includes a travelling circus complete with fire stilts, a contortionist and a circus specialist, through to the magnificent Betty Balloon, creating characters out of balloons whilst storytelling. Plus, an array of characters from the novel A Christmas Carol will also take to the streets, from Tiny Tim to Ebenezer Scrooge. Alongside the traditional Christmas Lights Switch On, Christmas Market and performers there will be face painters and of course, Santa’s Grotto, guaranteeing something on the night to delight and entertain the whole family. It all kicks off at 3pm and the Switch On takes place promptly at 6pm, followed by an evening of early Christmas shopping and superb festive foods as the Christmas Market opens to all.
KINGSTON TOWN CENTRE The Streets–Illuminating Music Performances 20–21 Nov Taking place as part of the wider EFG London Jazz Festival, local and internationally renowned musicians will be blazing a trail in libraries, churches, shops, cafés and public spaces in Kingston town centre. A Christmas Carol of Christmas Carols 26 Nov Continue the Christmas celebrations in one of Kingston’s most historic venues with an evening full of festive songs and carols based on ‘A Christmas
