Take a hike in versatile and verdant Ulko-Tammio

Did you know that in Finland you can even go hiking on an island that will make you feel you’re lost in a jungle? The magnificent Ulko-Tammio of the Outer Islands is uninhabited and shelters rare birds and plants. Its beautiful and lush nature with rugged coastal cliffs will leave an indelible impression.

Take a hike on well-marked nature trails through lush forests over rugged cliffs and through a wartime cave. Sit on a hilltop, wind-swept bench to look at the deep blue landscape and peaceful horizon in the most southeastern corner of Finland. Climb the bird tower and grill your picnic lunch at the campfire. The most surprising thing will be if you don’t come back to Ulko-Tammio again.

You can get to Ulko-Tammio on a Meriset cruise from Kotka’s Sapokka harbour.
