Mrs Dowsons Farm Park

At 2:30pm each day head over to Mrs Dowsons Farm Park’s newest building to view their herd being milked. The knowledgeable farmer will talk you through the educational process behind Mrs Dowsons Ice Cream as well as life on a real working dairy farm.

Boiler House Bowling coming soon

The Boiler House Bowling Alley is due to open at Holmes Mill very soon and will be home to four Duckpin bowling lanes. Duckpin you ask? Yes, this game of bowling uses smaller balls and pins and is a faster paced game than tenpin, and therefore more exciting, we have been told.

Blackburn Cathedral

‘The Lancashire Tapestry’ unveiled

A new monumental artwork titled ‘The Lancashire Tapestry’ celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, was unveiled earlier in the year at Blackburn Cathedral. A county built on an industrial landscape of cotton, weaving and mills is preserved in the material of its own making in a tapestry woven in Lancashire.

Mowgli, Preston

Preston welcomes Mowgli restaurant

Situated in the Grade II listed Miller Arcade in Preston, Lancashire-born Nisha Katona has opened another of her wonderful Indian restaurants, with lots of anticipation from locals and visitors alike. Mowgli is known for its fun atmosphere and delicious spiced food.
