Things Uniquely Lebanon Valley Not your run-of-the mill destination, the Lebanon Valley has an eclectic style all its own. Here are a few of our favorite things that add to our charm.

1. Architecture Galore Our small towns have

breathtaking architecture everywhere you turn, you just have to look up! A great way to experience them is to pick up a Heritage-trail map for a walking tour of the stunning architecture we boast.

2. Farm-Fresh Agriculture is the strongest industry in

the Lebanon Valley. Alongside large commercial farms are dozens of small-family run farms. Take a drive down any country road to find a farm stand with fresh-picked fruits and vegetables. Or, if you are visiting in the winer months, make sure you check out the Lebanon Farmer’s Market. Beautifully renovated, this historical building is home to numerous vendors offering fresh foods for you to enjoy.

3. The Artsy Outdoors Mt. Gretna is one small town you just can’t miss if you are an art or nature lover. Nestled in

the woods, this small community is packed with opportunities to experience the arts or to immerse yourself in nature’s splendor.

4. Simple Life

Central Pennsylvania is home to many Amish and Mennonites. Their culture is known for its homemade treats, handcrafted furniture, quilts, toys, and more - all made locally.

5. To Be, or Not To Be? Catch a live production at one of our community theaters or at Mt. Gretna. You’re bound to find a show that piques your interest. 6. Parks of Paradise

We are home to some very unique parks. Of particular interest are Coleman’s Park, and Memorial Lake Park, both worth while stops during your visit. Details on pages 16-17.

7. Nature Lover’s Utopia

Gap- a premier National Guard Training Facility, and a National Cemetery - our community oozes patriotism. The Annnille Memorial Parade is the longest parade honoring our veterans in the state of Pennsylvania - it is one event you definitely don’t want to miss!

9. Festivals!

Spring, Summer, and Fall, you’re bound to find to find a festival occurring - whether its historical, culinary, or music-based - a good time will be had by all.

10. Handcrafted Creations

We have many small businesses here who hand-make their claims to fame. Check out Hidden Still Spirits, Snitz Creek Brewery, or a sweet treat from 3rd generations confectioners at Wertz Candies, or try our old fashioned Shuey’s pretzels - baked in a brick oven!

If observing the peaceful migration of water fowl is something you’d enjoy, make sure you stop at the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area. The 6,254 acre refuge is a mecca for wildlife, and offers nine walking trails and several picnic areas to enjoy the serene atmosphere.

8. We Bleed Red, White and Blue Home to Ft. Indiantown VisitLebanonValley.com

ur winding, rolling country roads can be a dream to ride. Lebanon County offers a wide variety of bicycling experiences. You’ll find mountain biking and off road trails, in addition to scenic on-road bike rides. For road bicyclists, Lebanon’s countryside provides several hundred miles of cycling past 18th and 19th century farms as well as historic sites such as Cornwall Furnace and Union Canal locks. Cyclists may share the road with Amish buggies. Amazing architecture and historic sites in small towns and the city of Lebanon are included on county bike rides. For mountain bikers, single track trails at Swatara State Park and Clarence Schock Memorial Park at Governor Dick will test their skills.
