3. Beach Sand Formation

Sand sculptures are frequently featured in numerous competitions around the world. This was the inspiration to create an activity where participants were required to create artwork through different material found in the sand. The participants isolated small shell pebbles from the fine sand grains through a sieving method. The partakers created interesting artistic landscapes from the material they found in the sand. During the session, participants learned about the criteria which make beaches eligible for a blue flag certificate as well as geological information about the formation of sand.
