Freespirit acting school was at the forefront of this year’s Blue Flag activities and together with the tutors we organised a creative writing workshop. The session was initiated by a brief introduction about the Blue Flag awarded local beaches. The workshop focused on the various elements which are affecting the population of marine species. Whilst all Blue Flag beaches were mentioned throughout the discussion, focus was put on Qawra Point Beach. A participant asserted that due to its geological position, this beach and its surroundings are home to a lot of creatures such as bees, grasshoppers and crabs. Issues such as single use plastic and the number of bins installed near beaches were also mentioned and discussed.
