4. Clean Up Walk

Beach cleaning conserves coastal and ocean ecosystems. It ensures that none of the litter endangers marine life or is toxic enough to disrupt the aquatic life cycle. Litter also ends up in beaches after being transported from roads via wind and rain. In this activity at Qawra Point Beach, we discussed how vital it is to clean areas leading to beaches. Participants were repulsed by a person who they experienced littering just a few metres away from the numerous installed bins.
