• Hotel occupancy in April was at 60%, a 4% increase YoY
• Visitor to resident ratio was also up 62% YOY, from .17 in 2023 to .27 in 2024
• Over the past 12 months, overnight visitors account for 45%, a 20% decrease in comparison to the previous 12 months.
• Top 5 origin markets for visitors staying at hotels:
• Minneapolis-St. Paul (25.4%)
• Cedar Rapids-Waterloo-Iowa City & Dubuque (22.1%)
• La Crosse-Eau Claire (21.4%)
• Wausau-Rhinelander (20.8%)
• Davenport IA – Rock Island-Moline, IL (19.1%)
• The top 5 origin city markets in April were: Chicago, Green Bay-Appleton, Madison, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Des Moines-Ames
• Of these origin markets
• Chicago had the most devices in the South Side and West Side regions
• Green Bay-Appleton had the most devices in Wauwatosa
• Madison had the most devices in the North Side region
• Minneapolis-St. Paul had the most devices in the Airport, North East, and South East Milwaukee County regions
• Des Moines-Ames had the most devices Downtown
• Chicago and Minneapolis account for the same percentage of devices in the South West Milwaukee County region
• Very few devices were in the North-West region
• Looking at POIs, Harley Davidson Museum sees more visitors than residents (56%/44% split), while America’s Black Holocaust Museum sees the most residents and the fewest visitors (6%/94% split)
2024 Partnership Renewal Information
• Partnership renewal invoices were mailed or emailed out to all partners on January 2
• Deadline to make payment is June 1
• If payment is not received by June 1, your partnership will be suspended until payment is received
