Leave no trace. Bring any garbage to appropriate waste and recycling bins. Do not disturb cultural heritage sites, plants or wildlife. Follow existing trails and paths where possible.
Plants in national parks and nature reserves are all protected and should not be removed/disturbed. Berry picking is allowed.

There is reindeer husbandry in Namdalen. Be considerate and let reindeer wander and graze in peace. Walking towards a herd can be stressful for the animals, even if it does not appear that way.
Camping in wilderness areas is allowed but must be at least 150 meters from the closest house or cabin. Never camp more than two nights in the same place.
According to Norwegian law it is not permitted to light campfires between April 15th and September 15th due to wildfire hazards.
All dogs must be on leashes between April 1st and august 20th to avoid disturbing or injuring farm animals or wildlife.
Always bring a valid local fishing license for fishing, and a hunting license for hunting.
