K’gari and Hervey Bay World Heritage-listed K’gari (Fraser Island) is the world’s largest sand island and an area of remarkable natural beauty. Blessed with long white beaches, coloured sand cliffs, sand blows, rocky headlands and amazing clear freshwater lakes, it is a perfect extension to your Noosa holiday. Swim in over 100 freshwater lakes including Lake McKenzie and Eli Creek, walk through towering rainforest, drive on 120km of beach highway and visit the Maheno Shipwreck. The whales’ playground of Hervey Bay is about a three-hour drive north of Noosa on the Bruce Highway, where you can join a half-day whale watching tour in calm waters, spotting humpback whales with their calves.

Suggested Itinerary Every visit to Noosa requires at least a day exploring the town. Most people wish they could stay longer once they realise the breadth of offerings, using Noosa as a base.

DAY 1 • Soak up the natural beauty in the Noosa National Park and learn to surf in a World Surfing Reserve. Drive the coast road to explore Sunshine, Sunrise or Peregian Beach villages. • Board the Noosa Ferry and cruise along the Noosa River, hire a jet ski or spot dolphins on a jet boat ride. • Shop at the many boutiques lining Hastings Street and dine at one of the award-winning restaurants with beachfront or river views.

DAY 2 • Visit the Noosa Everglades. Cruise, kayak, canoe or helicopter above the ‘River of Mirrors’ known for its breathtaking reflective waters. • Don’t forget your camera as the area is home to over 44% of Australia’s bird species, Eastern Grey Kangaroos, echidnas, koalas and a variety of other Australian wildlife. • Glamp under the stars

DAY 3 • Explore the lesser known side to Noosa traversing the countryside. Home to exquisite local produce at farm gates where you can try feijoas, pick strawberries, taste ginger and finish at a craft brewery. • Adventure out on the Noosa Trail Network joining a mountain biking or horseriding tour. Hike up Mt Tinweerbah or Mt Cooroora for spectacular 360-degree views. • Jump on board a historic steam train, visit a tranquil botanic garden, or treat yourself to a day spa.

DAY 4 • Join a 4WD tour from Noosa, driving on the sand. The 88km journey passes through Rainbow Beach and all the way to Fraser Island. At Double Island Point Lighthouse look out for humpback whales in season (June – November).

DAY 5 • Visit one of our neighbours. A full day will take you to world famous Australia Zoo, World Heritage-listed K’gari (Fraser Island) or Lady Elliot Island, home of the Manta Ray.
