Getting Around Getting around in Norfolk is easy by bus or light rail. The Tide light rail route extends 7.4 miles from Eastern Virginia Medical Center east through downtown Norfolk and adjacent to I-264 to Newtown Road. Eighteen bus routes offer direct connections to six of the eleven Tide stations.
