CHARMS OF PERU (7 D / 6N) Destinations: Lima / Paracas / Nazca Lines / Cusco / Machu Picchu Trip Experience: Cultural, Historic, and Scenic Tourism. USD 837 Day 1 Lima – City Tour: Upon arrival in Lima, you will be assisted at the airport and transferred to your chosen hotel. In the afternoon, we will begin to tour the modern, residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. Continuing with our trip, we will head to the Lima’s Historical Center, declared to be a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO in 1991, where the Spanish colony was established in the 16th century, and where the first constructions were built. We will get to see the San Martin Plaza, its balconies and old colonial houses, the Major Plaza and its most important buildings, such as the Government Palace, Lima’s Cathedral, the Archiepiscopal and Municipal Palace, the Desamparados Station, and other buildings. San Francisco Convent and Catacombs; we will enter one of the most famous convents of the 17th century and visit the Ancient Library, the Coro, the Principal Cloister and the subterranean crypts known as the Catacombs. As the tour ends, you will have the option to stay at the Inca Market, in Larcomar, or to return to your hotel. Day 2 Lima / Nazca / Paracas: Breakfast at the hotel. Early Morning (03.45am), transfer to the bus station for your trip to Nazca (7 hours). Transfer to the Nazca airport. We will head to the Nazca airport for a 30 minute flight in a small-high wing aircraft over the desert and the mysterious Nazca lines (these lines can only be appreciated in the air and have different animal shapes such as the spider, the monkey, the dog, the lizard, the hummingbird, and the condor). The Nazca lines reach dimensions of 15 to 300 meters with a depth of 30 cm. Transfer to Paracas in bus. We will then head to the selected hotel. Accommodation in the chosen hotel. Day 3 Paracas/ Lima Breakfast at the hotel. We will head to the Chaco station to go to the Ballestas Islands in which we will be able to see the pelicans, sea lions and the Humboldt penguins. During the trip, we will be also be able to see the mysterious lines in the sand that form the shape of a candle. Transfer to Lima in bus. We will then head to the selected hotel. Day 4 Lima / Cuzco - City Tour & archeological sites: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the airport for the flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be assisted in the airport and transferred to your chosen hotel. CITY TOUR + 04 RUIN TRIPS: Half day tour. Approximately 14:00 to 18:30 hours. This traditional tour is a visit of the city. The first recommended trip as an introduction that allows for a better understanding. During the trip, we will get to know the Sun Temple (Koricancha) and the Cusco Cathedral, to later visit the four archeological sites that are found surrounding the city such as Seno, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, and the impressive temple known as the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Day 5 Cusco / Machu Picchu: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Machu Picchu. The trip to Machu Picchu will begin with an approximately two hour trip to the town of Agua Calientes. This town is also known as “Machu Picchu Town” and it is the last stop before entering the remains of the most important archeological complex in Peru. In Aguas Calientes, there is a train station, a crafts market, restaurants, and accommodations for those who prefer to spend the night at the foot of the mountain and climb it early in the morning. Finally, after a short trip, you will reach Machu Picchu, a masterful work of engineering and architecture that is believed to have been a sanctuary and resting place for the Inca Pachacutec (1438 - 1572). Machu Picchu, which means “Old Mountain,” is considered a Cultural Heritage of Humanity according to the UNESCO and it is one of the seven World Wonders. Lunch in Aguas Calientes. Accommodation in the chosen hotel. Day 6 Machu Picchu / Cusco: Breakfast at the hotel. You will be able to return to Machu Picchu on this day and have the option of visiting any of the attractions in the citadel. You will be able to visit the Intipunku, “The Door of the Sun.” It was like a checkpoint, and the sun rises every day through this door if it is seen from the most important buildings in the citadel. You will also be able to climb the Wayna Picchu (availability subject to spaces). In it, you will find the “Temple of the Moon,” which is a subterranean complex destined to be used by the elite, as the main attraction. In the afternoon, you will be transferred from the Aguas Calientes station and take the train to return to the Ollantaytambo or Cusco stations. Day 7
