Countries that do not require visa to enter Peru Diplomatic, Official and Service Passports Peru currently signed agreements for the suppression of visas for diplomatic, official and service passports with 73 countries. In this regard, they may enter Peru without visa for a period not exceeding 90 days.

Ordinary Passports Peru abolished the visa requirement for foreigner citizens of almost all the countries of America, Europe and some countries of Asia to promote tourism.

The list of these countries can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru.

Laissez Passer of United States The United Nation official passports requires visa to enter Peru.

2. Rule of Exemption of visa for the COP20 Conference Peru will issue a Supreme Decree that exempts all participants who hold diplomatic, official and service passports and laissez passer from the visa requirements for the COP20 Framework Conference.

This decree will include all the countries that did not sign agreements of exemption of visa and that are not part of the United Nations System.

This decree will have a validity period only for the purposes of the Conference.

The similar process was carried out with the ASPA and UNIDO.

3. Granting visas at Embassies and Consulates of Peru abroad All of our diplomatic and consular missions will be instructed for granting official visas to all the participants who come to Peru to attend the COP20.

For this purpose, the Directory of the missions of Peru abroad, with addresses and phone numbers will be sent to the Secretariat for Climate Change, so the participants will have access to that information.

4. Electronic Authorization for entrance to Peru The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru through the Office of Information and Communications Technology has developed a system whereby the participant who requires a visa to enter Peru and which country has not diplomatic mission of Peru, can have access to it entering his personal information, photograph and copy of the invitation letter or record of his registration of attendance to the Conference.

Such information will be review at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, it meets the requirements, it will be approved by issuing an electronic letter of entrance with number and bar code. The letter will be sent to the emails of the participants.

In case that the requirements are not met, an email denying the petition will be sent.

With that letter, the participants can go aboard the flights without any inconvenient since IATA will be aware of that international event as well as the Directorate General for Migration which will also have access to the system for the verification process, if necessary.

5. Visas issued at the Airport

Exceptionally, and if a foreign citizen can nor apply nor process his visa and “Letter of Authorization to enter Peru” at any of our embassies or consulates.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru will provide a diplomatic officer who will grant official visas at the International Airport “Jorge Chavez”.
