FASCINATING PERU (6D / 5N) Destinations: Lima / Cusco / Machu Picchu Trip Experience: Cultural and Historic USD 607 Day 1.- Lima: You will be given assistance at the airport and transfer to your chosen hotel. Day 2.- Lima / Cusco / City Tour & archeological sites: Breakfast at the hotel. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be assisted at the airport and transferred to your chosen hotel. In the afternoon, CITY TOUR + 04 RUIN TRIPS: Half day tour. Approximately 14:00 to 18:30 hours. This traditional tour is a visit of the city. The first recommended trip as an introduction that allows for a better understanding. During the trip, we will get to know the Sun Temple (Koricancha) and the Cusco Cathedral, to later visit the four archeological sites that are found surrounding the city such as Seno, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, and the impressive temple known as the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Day 3.- Cusco / Sacred Valley of the Incas / Cusco: Breakfast. Full day tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing through towns such as Pisac, which has a market where natives still barter and where the craftsmen sell their products. Buffet lunch included. Later we will continue to Ollantaytambo, ruins located at 97 km. from Cusco. This is the only Inca town that still is inhabited and whose ruins dominate the valley. On the way back to Cusco, we will have the opportunity of visiting the picturesque town of Chincheros. Includes a buffet lunch. Day 4.- Cusco / Maras and Moray: Breakfast at the hotel. Your day will begin with an approximately one and a half hour trip to the archeological remains of Moray and Maras. The archeological remains of Moray consist of mysterious concentric circle platforms that for some intellectuals, it was a center of agricultural investigation. The outer, elevated platforms are at higher temperatures than the inner platforms and they could simulate the conditions of the different ecological floors of the empire. On the other side, Maras is a surreal view. It is near Moray and it is an impressive complex of salt works. The large deposits of salt were used to trade for other products with other parts of the Empire. To end the trip, you will return to Cusco. Day 5.- Cusco / Machu Picchu / Cusco: Breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour. Very early in the morning, you will be taken from the hotel to Cusco’s train station to go on an approximately two hour trip to the citadel of Machu Picchu. We will arrive at the Aguas Calientes station, where we will take the bus that will take us on a 30 minute ascending trip to Machu Picchu. “Lost city of the Incas,” a sanctuary and resting place for the Inca Pachacutec (1438 – 1572). Machu Picchu is considered a Cultural Heritage of Humanity according to the UNESCO, and it is one of the seven World Wonders. The excursion includes a guided tour of the Citadel, and you will visit the Principal Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sundial, the Royal Rooms, the Three Window Temple, and the Graveyard. Includes a buffet lunch. At the indicated hour, you will return to Cusco and be taken to the corresponding hotel. Day 6.- Cusco / Lima – International Departure: Breakfast at the hotel.
