OPCIONAL EXCURSIONS: CITY TOUR: COLONIAL AND MODERN LIMA Daily Schedule: 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Length: 3 ½ hours.

MODERN LIMA: We will begin the tour in the modern, residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will tour the Financial Center, the Golf, the Olivar, the Huaca Pucllana, pre-Inca ceremonial temple in the form of a pyramid that has survived Lima’s urban expansion. We will stop at Larcomar, commercial and entertainment center located in Miraflores’ pier, from which we will observe the Pacific Ocean.

COLONIAL LIMA: Following our tour, we will head to the Lima’s Historical Center, declared to be a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO in 1991, where the Spanish colony was established in the 16th century, and where the first constructions were built. We will get to see the San Martin Plaza, its balconies and old colonial houses, the Major Plaza and its most important buildings, such as the Government Palace, Lima’s Cathedral, the Archiepiscopal and Municipal Palace, the Desamparados Station, and other buildings.

SAN FRANCISCO CONVENT AND CATACOMBS: We will enter one of the most famous convents of the 17th century and visit the Ancient Library, the Coro, the Principal Cloister and the subterranean crypts known as the Catacombs.

As the tour ends, you will have the option to stay at the Inca Market, in Larcomar, or to return to your hotel.

BARRANCO AND CHORRILLOS + PACHACAMAC Schedule: 9:00 am and 2:00 pm (Tuesday to Sunday) Length: 3 ½ hours.

BARRANCO + CHORRILLOS: We will begin our tour in the district of Barranco and appreciate the Central Park, the Bajada de los Baños, the Ancient Library, the “ranchos” or colonial houses, the Bridge of Sighs and its famous Boulevard, which is the most bohemian expression of Lima’s night life. Then we will visit the district of Chorrillos, which contains the city’s only natural reserve, the Villa Swamps.

PACHACAMAC: Continuing with our tour, we will take Panamericana Sur to arrive at Pachacamac, the most important pre-Hispanic ceremonial center in Peru’s coast. Its habitants travelled there to bring tributes to their god, “Pachacamac.” Here we can appreciate its diverse constructions made with mud that belong to different centuries.

The oldest buildings are from the first centuries C.E. Although Pachacamac belonged to different cultures such as the Lima Culture, the Wari Culture, the Ichma, Culture, and even the Inca Empire (15th century), it always maintained its prestige as a religious center.

Pachacamac also has a museum that exhibits the ceramics and textiles that were discovered, as well as the image of Pachacamac on a wooden idol that was found in the excavation of 1938. To end the tour, the will have the option of staying at the Inca Market, in Lacomar, or return to the hotel.

MAGICAL WATER CIRCUIT & DINNER SHOW Schedule: 6:30 pm. (Wednesday to Sunday) Length: 4 hours.

We will begin the tour in the Parque de la Reserva, where we will visit the Magical Water Circuit. This majestic work has obtained the distinction of having obtained the Guinness record for being the largest public fountain park in the world and for having the tallest fountain in a public park (standing at 80 meters tall). The circuit contains 12 cybernetic and ornamental fountains and a marvelous laser display, and images that interact with the water movement in perfect harmony.

DINNER SHOW: Continuing the tour, we will head to a renowned tourist restaurant in Miraflores, where we will enjoy a buffet that include a variety of Peruvian dishes, accompanied by a show with music and traditional dances that summarize the most representative cultural expressions of the Coast, the Mountain Ranges, and the Jungle of Peru.

When the dinner show is over, we will take you back to the hotel.
