THE PRE-INCA NORTHERN KINGDOMS (3 days) A getaway to Trujillo and Chiclayo to learn more about the cultural heritage left by the Northern pre-Inca civilizations. Visits include the newest discoveries - the mummy of the Lady of Cao and 4000-year old murals in Ventarron. DAY 1
LIMA – CHICLAYO (L) Transfer to the airport. Departure flight to Chiclayo. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Exploration of the 4000-year old temple Ventarron and the archaeological site of Huaca Rajada, the place where the Lord of Sipan, the ‘Tutankamon of the Americas’ was discovered. Afterwards drive to Lambayeque for the visit to the Royal Tombs of the Lord of Sipan National Museum. Lunch included.
DAY 2
CHICLAYO - TRUJILLO (B) Morning drive to Trujillo (04 hours approx). On the way visit to ‘The‘Witch’ archaeological complex. The visit includes the museum of the Lady of Cao - the first female ruler of the Mochica culture discovered in northern Peru. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
DAY 3
TRUJILLO – LIMA (B,L) Visit to the archaeological sites or pyramid of the Moon (and panoramic view of the Pyramid of the Sun). Lunch is provided in Huanchaco, a charming village in which the ancient tradition of fishing on rafts made of tied bundles of reeds is still kept. Visit to Chan Chan, the former citadel of the Chimu Kingdom. Afterwards, transfer to the airport for the night flight to Lima.
