To make your visit an enjoyable one Go on excursions only on recommended and signposted tourist routes. You might be asked to show your ID to enter a tourist attraction or establishment.

Take your lodging information with you: name, address, and phone number.

Exchange money or withdraw cash from ATMs at banks or authorized stores. Do not accept help from strangers. Keep your original IDs, valuables, and credit cards that you will not use on excursions in custody or in your lodging’s safe.

During the rainy season (December to March) Get information about the condition of the roads and access paths. It is also recommended to bring warm clothes, umbrellas, and raincoats.

When registering your visit with Customs and Migration If you are traveling in your vehicle and plan to leave the province of Tacna, remember to get the Temporary Admission Certificate (CIT, in Spanish). Request information at the Santa Rosa Border Attention Center. If you are traveling with minors, remember to bring their IDs and respective permits to register their entry or exit from the country. If you want to leave the country, it is advisable to use international public transport, which makes it easier for you to make your migration registration at the corresponding points.

When hiring tourist services Check the list of authorized travel and tourism agencies in IPERÚ or in the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (DIRCETUR). Avoid hiring services that are offered out loud outside land or air transportation terminals or in the streets. It is advisable to get information from more than one formal company before hiring a service. Visit their offices and request details in writing of the terms of service and cancellation policies. When buying products or contracting a service, request the corresponding payment receipt.

In case of non-compliance To file a complaint, request the Complaints Book. You can also request assistance from IPERÚ or the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI). Keep in mind that tourist services with very low costs do not guarantee good service.
