I believe Saint Paul’s diversity is its superpower. Because of the different cultures and people from all over the world who live and play and do business here in its neighborhoods, you can experience the world in this one city.

“My passion is in community empowerment, but also public policy advocacy as it pertains to the African and immigrant community,” says Ian. That passion has influenced the mission of Rafiki Coffee & Cafe which is to build a more resilient, flourishing and connected community one coffee cup and conversation at a time.

Ian’s ultimate to do list:

• Visit the Little Africa Arts and Cultural District and the Hmong Village

• Stand on the steps of the State Capitol building and scan the entire area and realize where you are standing.

• Go to the Union Depot where the present and the past meet.

• Take the kids to Como Zoo.

• Eat at a restaurant on Grand Avenue or someplace Downtown
