New Business Events Sunshine Coast website As the convention bureau for the Sunshine Coast, Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) has unveiled a new look website offering a range of services tailored to event planners. As well as providing information on accommodation and services; the website (www.businesseventssunshinecoast.com) showcases bespoke incentive experiences, an easy venue and activity search, deals, case studies and a planning toolkit complete with free downloadable resources. The redeveloped website is visually-engaging, destination-focused, intuitive and can be viewed on different devices delivering a more personalised experience for planners. Rivershore Resort – Glamping comes to the Sunshine Coast South-east Queensland’s first new-build camping and caravanning resort in 40 years will upgrade the image for the sector with luxury glamping and conference options. Rivershore Resort opened on the Maroochy River front in mid 2016. The resort offers 15 premium safari tents equipped with ensuite and kitchens, providing guests with a luxurious 5 start experience. (see full media release for further information) Kingfisher Bay Resort has undergone a décor refresh and room revamp to give their iconic, eco-friendly designed building a modern timeless feel. Centre complex – As of August 2016 new furniture provides a breath of fresh air through our open atrium-style centre complex lounge areas. The bar at Seabelle Restaurant has also received a facelift with new modern furniture and a vibrant splash of colour creating a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere.

The Events Centre, Caloundra

(see full media release for further information) The Events Centre in Caloundra will undergo long-term capital works to improve the experience for patrons, visiting artists and business events. Established in 1980, the centre is the region’s primary performance and conference venue. Some of the key improvements include new seating in the Main and Playhouse Theatre, an upgrade of air conditioning, improved disability access and a number of backstage upgrades to enhance the experience of visiting artists. www.theeventscentre.com.au

Hotel room refurbishments – The new modern feel at Kingfisher Bay Resort extends right through all of our 152 hotel rooms. Following full repainting and installation of new beds, carpets and soft furnishings, all hotel rooms are fitted with new fridge cabinets, bedside tables, luggage racks, TV cabinets and desks. Each room’s bathroom also has a fresh new look, with larger mirrors and new cabinetry.

Novotel Twin Waters Resort (see full media release for further information) Everyone’s favourite venue Novotel Twin Waters Resort has added to its enviable list of spaces, incentives and teambuilding activities to introduce a new jetpack experience and The Base Gym to rocket the Sunshine Coast to exciting new heights for conference delegates and guests alike. Jetpack Adventures are the world’s newest adrenalin adventure activity, shooting adventurers some 10 metres above the water surface at speeds of up to 50kms per hour, and are now available for hire on an individual basis, as an incentive or exciting teambuilding activity over Novotel’s famous lagoon. Offered in partnership with Segway ECO Xperiences Queensland, who have built and run innovative teambuilding activities for the destination for more than 10 years, the Jetpacks are the latest in a wave of diverse new offerings that have been launched at Novotel Twin Waters Resort in the past 12 months.

King rooms – Taking guest feedback onboard, six rooms in the resort’s ocean-facing B-Wing also have a new feel featuring a king bed, lounge and upgraded outdoor setting on the deck.
