Mayflower 400 Commemoration, Winslow Changed the World

EDWARD WINSLOW was born in Droitwich Spa, the grandson of a farmer, after winning a scholarship he attended Kings School at Worcester Cathedral. He left England to join the separatists in Leiden, Holland assisting William Brewster in publishing of promotional material and religious books. When the pilgrims arrived in Massachusetts Winslow was the third person to sign the compact showing his status within the colony.

Edward Winslow famously documented the 3 day Harvest Celebration event Americans now celebrate as Thanksgiving.

The UK Mayflower 400th Commemorative year will run from Nov 2019 to Nov 2020 telling the true stories behind their fight for religious freedom. We are working directly with the Wampanoag nation to ensure their stories are heard, as well as looking at the modern world where we are still dealing with similar issues.
