Restaurant explosion AN explosion in the kitchen of one of Denia’s top restaurants, Baret de Miquel, left a kitchen worker injured and the establishment forced to close its door for an unknown period. The incident happened on Good Friday morning as food was being prepared for the day ahead. What appeared to be a gas bottle explosion blew out windows, completely destroyed the kitchen and caused cuts to the legs and arms of the male staff member. Police said that fortunately the blast blew out towards a patio rather than the other way to the dining room or things could

have been much worse. Baret de Miquel is owned by Michelin starred chef Miquel Ruiz and is located on Calle Palau just off the town centre. A post on the restaurants facebook page said “We’re sorry to have to tell our clients that due to an explosion in the kitchen we have been forced to close our premises. We will cancel all reservations made at this time.” The post was accompanied by pictures of the damage. No date for reopening was given but it will be a blow for the proprietor to miss the Easter season as seems likely. ... Continued Page 2

Thoughtless Crime gang brought to book T parkers OPPOSITION councillors in Javea have requested that any cars blocking access to emergency services should be immediately towed away. Motorists thoughtlessly parking outside the Health Centre are the worst offenders, meaning that ambulances and other emergency vehicles have to manoeuvre round

by Matthew Richards

when time is most of the essence. This is one of the recommendations that have come out of an evaluation the Podemos party did last September, after a detailed study of emergency and other vital services in the town and port.

HE Guardia Civil have arrested seven people, including four brothers from Orba, in connection with a series of criminal activities. The group have initially been accused of involvement in 58 crimes including drug trafficking, burglary, possession of unlicensed weapons and electricity fraud. It is believed the gang travelled around the northern

by Simon Russell

Costa Blanca area, looking for suitable targets during daylight hours and robbing these houses at night. They burgled empty properties as a rule; however, on one occasion they disturbed a householder in the Marina Alta village of Sanet i Negrals and beat them up, breaking a wrist. The gang developed sophisticated methods of moving the stolen

goods on, building a network of contacts. As they ran out of suitable easy targets for burglary they moved onto dealing drugs, obtaining them from a trafficker in Javea. The one woman arrested in the gang was behind much of the distribution of the drugs around the area. Two of the brothers were well known to the police who had been monitoring them for

a while, eventually connecting them to the crimes they have been accused of. When the suspects homes were raided police seized cocaine, heroin, hashish, weaponry, jewellery, watches, TV’s, mobiles and five vehicles among other things. A number of these are on show in the Guardia Civil barracks at el Verger in the hope they will be recognised by their rightful owners.

Danger dog attacks Killer breaches puppy and child restraining order AN American Stanford dog, classified as a potentially dangerous breed here in Spain, has been impounded after attacking a young girl and her puppy in Denia. The 14-year-old was walking her dog with her mother in the Old Town when the Stanford attacked the pup. The youngster tried to

by Simon Russell

protect the animal and she in turn was bitten on the arms and chest before the dog was restrained. Local Police attended the scene and the owner of the larger dog was unable to provide the documentation required for this breed; all dogs in the

“potentially dangerous” breed are supposed to be registered with the town hall and muzzled in public. The police who attended the scene advised the girl and her mother to make an official complaint. The girl was taken to hospital for treatment while the puppy’s leg was fractured in the attack.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested in Castellon city after killing the father of his partner and injuring her daughter. The man had been issued with a restraining order after previous incidents but went to his former partners home armed with a knife at the end of last month.

by Matthew Richards

The door was opened by the woman’s 20-yearold daughter. According to some reports she was ordered to take her clothes off and was later wounded in the hand. The girl’s grandfather, aged 70, then arrived and was fatally

stabbed after a struggle. The man’s former partner was not in the house at the time of the attack while the aggressor is in hospital with wounds that were inflicted in the incident and is likely to be charged this week. The young woman’s wounds are not life threatening.

Generous donation A renowned surgeon with strong links to Javea has donated 1,200 books from his personal collection to the town’s municipal library. Dr Vicente Luis Arino Gimeno is an orthopaedic surgeon and a doctor at the La Fe University Hospital in Valencia as well as holding various medical chairmanships.

by Simon Russell

He has had a long term holiday home in the area and has arranged for the annual Traumatics and Orthopaedics Society conference to have been held in Javea since the 1980’s, bringingmore than 150 Valencian doctors and surgeons into the town. The donation consists

of half books and half scientific journals which can now be accessed by any member of the public in the library. The official signing over of the books and journals was done with Mayor Jose Chulvi this week and the doctor has been thanked for enriching the Municipal Library.

Bringing back the eagle

A charity concert held by the Fundacio Balearia in March raised €500 which they have announced will be going towards the purchase of 150 signed lithographs by well-known local artist Joan Castejon. These portray ospreys, a bird of prey that Javea’s environmental department is hoping to reintroduce to the area. The lithographs will in turn be sold on for €100 each with the funds

raised going towards the reintroduction work. The prints can be purchased at points of sale such as bookshops as well as the Magic and Nature website. The ospreys were considered extinct 40 years ago but have been successfully brought back to Andalucia and the Balearics. The reintroduction of the birds at the Cape Sant Antoni and Pego-Oliva marshes

would serve as a bridge between the existing colonies, massively helping the chances of long term survival for the rare birds. The plans are for the first chicks to be released this summer. The Fundacion Balearia is the charitable and socially aware arm of Balearia Ferries; the eagle project is one they have given long term help to.

150 primary school children from Calpe received training during March at La Nucia’s special junior Traffic Park. The park is a mock-up of roads, pavements and cycle lanes, allowing the youngsters to learn the fundamental rules of road safety in a safe environment. The objectives of the training are to reduce the level of accidents for cyclists and pedestrians with a

mixture of theoretical and practical training. As a way of thanking La Nucia for the loan of its facilities, Pilar Cabrera from Calpe’s Education Department arranged the donation of ten bike safety helmets to the town’s police force. The training activity was arranged after collaboration between the two town’s education and public safety departments.

JAVEA Mayor Jose Chulvi has put forward plans to build a second sports pavilion in the town next year. Raised as part of the last plenary session in March, he conceded that Javea had a poor sporting infrastructure for a town of its size and standing. Much of what they do have is old and scattered around the town rather than being focused in one area.

by Simon Russell

Mr Chulvi said that while the priority would be fixing and improving what is already there, such as new turf for the football pitch, a study will be carried out regarding a second facility. Advisers will be appointed to look into the feasibility, although he admits that the lack of spare municipal land may be a problem.

Fishy festival THE fifth Crix de Peix contest will be held in Javea on 21 April at the town’s fish market. This is a cooking competition open only to professional chefs and cooks, who are tasked with preparing dishes using locally caught produce. The competition is launched and organised by the Xabia Port Merchants Association and

Fish farm plan sunk PROPOSALS for a large marine farm off the coast of Calpe have been rejected after an assessment by the environment agency. There were plans for the 50 hectare fish farm to be constructed southwest of the port for the purpose of breeding bream and sea bass. However the Ministry of the Environment report stated serious health concerns from the waste output generated and also risk of contamination to fish

in the farm itself from waste that is present in the inshore waters such as sewage. There is a similar but smaller farm located about 2000 meters from sewage outlets but the new farm would have been only about 650 metres away, making the site unsuitable. The new farm has been put forward as merely an extension to the existing one, but the report found they would effectively be separate operations.

Sun, sea and Roman remains JAVEA was one of the most important bases during the Roman occupation of the Iberian Peninsula and, although there is plenty of information about how these ancient colonists lived, how they died remains more of a mystery. A new book published by the municipality plans to address this issue, listing the known burial sites in and around the town, 26 in total. “Quaderns del Museu de Xabia” (Notes of the Javea Museum) gives details on necropolises and other burial sites in the municipality such as the giant cemetery near Muntanyar, the biggest

by Simon Russell

such site in the area. The Punta del Castillo, Isla de Portitxol and Santa Lucia Colina were all also used for the dead in Roman times. Burial pits were also commonplace, especially amongst the working and enslaved classes. Clues as to the whereabouts of any site usually starts with fairly commonplace archaeological finds such as coins or crockery, treasures buried with the dead to help them in the afterlife. As well as burial sites, the rites and ceremonies surrounding death are also investigated in the book.

GET OFF MY ISLAND!

I

´ve got me knickers in a twist. My favourite place in the world has been sold. My beloved island of Ś Espalmador, Formenterá s little sister in Ibiza, has been sold to a family from Luxembourg. For 18 million euros.

Note how I use the word “my” there, even as I process the news that the island has been sold. Obviously my knickers are

mine, but the island clearly isn´t, never has been and never will be. However, I have spent so much precious time there it feels like I have a huge (even if only emotional) stake in it. Which is exactly how many Brits feel about Ibiza, based on their loyal devotion year in and year out. Like they own the place, basically! The small, stunning island with white, white beaches, turquoise waters and (now) famous mud baths was sold to a Brit by an

Ibicenco back in 1932 for the equivalent of 252 euros. (In the Balearics, back in the day, unfarmable shore-land was inherited by the “unimportant” daughters. Happily when tourism arrived the girls cashed in. The British inheritors of the island Norman and Rosy Cinnamond who have just “sold up” claim that they would have liked Formentera to own it as public property but oddly enough the government didn´t have that kind of money lying around (originally it was priced at 24 million). I suspect that Norman and Rosy knew for sure that they wouldn´t be giving the island back to the people of Formentera. Silvia Tur, a local politician, has been telling the press that the island, being part of the Ses Salinas National Park, is subject to strict protection laws that will have to be observed, with no building or tourism business allowed. It´s ok though, everyone. In case you were worried that the Luxemburg family had blown 18m on nothing, there is a house on the island with 13 bedrooms, and a little church for the Luxies to atone for their sins in. It doesn´t seem right to me that any individual can own such a stunning slice of the world that surely should be respectfully enjoyed by the public. However, we don´t really know what will happen yet. Some say that the local law dictates that its beaches and waterfront remain public, and if they don´t we will see some major protesting in Ibiza and Formentera for sure. And from many “extranjeros” too.

HOME FROM HOME

Why are me and my knickers so twisted about this? In 2002 I bought (with a mortgage and a boyfriend) a hiperformance 5 x 10 m catamaran and set up a charter company which I ran for 12 years. We would take groups of up to 10 sailing with the usual route being from Salinas Beach, where I lived, to Formentera, almost always via S´Espalmador. In those days we would nudge the cat right up to the beach, help our clients literally slide off the boat, and then guide our clients across the magical island to the surreal and then littleknown mud baths. Here we would strip and smother ourselves in the “detoxifying” mud, laugh a great deal, take lots of photos of each other and head back to the sea to wash off. A fantastic time was had by all again and again and again, before we moved on to Formentera to snorkel a bit and then send our clients off for a four-hour lunch before sailing them home as the sun set. Yes, it was a bit of a dream job. Not least because clients were so incredibly happy and grateful at the end of the day. There is also a shallow lagoon on S´Espalmador and being a catamaran with a very shallow drought (not much underneath) we would happily join humble fishing boats, getting well away from the silly superyachts, for camping trips. Quite literally heaven on earth and sea. Over the years the mud baths became better known, and big party boats rocked

by Fiona Jennison

up to unload the masses, overloading the mud and meaning that the sea was saturated in the mud. The authorities have recently curbed licenses for these annoying party boatsand quite a few years ago all boats were made to moor on eco-friendly buoys that had been placed to protect the precious Posidonia algae that keeps the waters of Formentera and Salinas so pure and clean.

CROWD CONTROL

I sold my catamaran to some young guys who are passionately eco-friendly. They installed electric engines, at great expense and quite a lot of maintenance risk, even though we barely used engines as the boat needs hardly any wind. Says Martin “I think people should only be allowed to access S´Espalmador without using any fuel. That would keep the numbers down and the fish and algae happy! We will be trying to contact the new owners to discuss this.” S´Espalmador is an extraordinary place, and the Luxiescouldn´t have bought more luxury in my opinion. For nine months of the year the island is incredibly tranquil, yet a stone´s throw from the exciting party island of Ibiza. They have “luxed out”! I know this for certain because I spent some time googling Private Islands Inc today. This is a website for “the independent with adventurous personality” apparently. Which I think translates as “stinking rich”. For any of you with 20 million dollars or more burning a hole in your pocket there is a surprising number of islands for sale around the world. But none of them compare to my S´Espalmador. For those of you who have a bit less cash I cannot recommend enough a day out on my old boat if you ever get over to Ibiza. Contact www.labellaverde.org. or call 603 807 588. Mention my name and you´ll get a bit of discount. fiona@weekender.news

Following the newly elected President David Haxon’s address and the reports from the various officers the members were entertained to one of the most interesting and eloquent talks by Tony Grande concerning the wonderful “Make a Smile” charity. We asked Tony to give us a brief history of his journey with Make A Smile and what new projects the group are currently sponsoring. Tony spoke about starting in one of the local homes where he was asked to supply some mattresses and he and a band of volunteers then went on to refurbish the home. As the financial crisis hit, the homes were short of just about everything

by John Hopwood

and Tony and his team supplied many necessities including food, heating and a myriad of other essentials. He also told us about the fantastic Self Sufficiency Project in Relleu where his team created a farm on disused land beside one of the homes and produced vegetables, eggs and olive oil, sending most to the homes and selling the rest in veggie bags which were distributed amongst the community. This money was then used to buy meat and other needs. After the collapse of Emaus last June, a new company have been looking after the children´s homes. This group called Salud y Comunidad are now providing food, heating and other basics to the children and Make A Smile is now concentrating on extracurricular

activities for the children, apprenticeships and training courses for the older youngsters to prepare them for life outside the homes at 18 and outings so that the children are not confined to their homes during the holidays. Tony explained that to help fund these projects, Make A Smile have opened a charity shop in Teulada to enhance their Recycle project which takes in furniture, clothes and household items for renovation and resale. They also collect pennies, do local events and fairs amongst their many other projects. Tony’s talk to the U3A members was very much appreciated and applauded by members – particularly as he had been unable to use the faulty projector to show films and photographs he had hoped to use to illustrate his talk.

Although the affect of Hydrogen sulphide on plant growth was discovered some years ago, there does not seem to be, as yet, any direct use in a horticultural context. It is not the only “wonder” substance available, however, and Gibberellic acid is a good example (the name is not as daunting as it looks, its pronunciation starting off like Gibraltar!). Gibberellins (GAs) are plant hormones that regulate growth and many other factors in a plant’s development and were first recognized in 1926 by a Japanese scientist studying bakanae, the “foolish seedling” disease in rice. This is a fungal disease which can have very serious effects on rice production causing seedlings to grow too long and thin so that they topple over (hence foolish!) and produce no edible grains. In gardening, however, Gibberellic Acid-3 (GA-3) is mainly used as a treatment for seeds which are difficult to germinate. Presoaking seeds in GA-3 solution will in many cases cause the rapid germination of many types of highly dormant seeds which would otherwise

need prolonged pretreatments such as cold treatment, after-ripening or aging,. Many different types of dormancy are overcome with GA-3 and excellent results are obtained with many ordinarily difficult seeds. For example, over the past few years, various penstemons have become increasingly popular as garden flowers. These plants grow and tolerate a wide range of temperatures and have a variety of flower types and colours. However, seeds of many species possess a dormancy that limits seed germination. As a result, individual germination requirements vary widely, both among and within species - fresh penstemon seed sown without any soaking will take 4 to 5 weeks to germinate with only a maximum of 50% success rate whereas seeds soaked in a high concentration of GA3 consistently give greater than 50% germination within 2 weeks. Not all seeds respond well, however, and even amateur experiment can produce interesting and useful information. GA-3 kits are readily available through Amazon, for example.

Smoke is another interesting treatment which has been developed quite recently. It has been realised that many Australian, South African and even Mediterranean plant seeds which have proved difficult to germinate in the past, seem to do quite well in their native areas after there has been a bush fire or its local equivalent. Perhaps the seeds respond at this time because the tall vegetation which blocks out the sunlight has been removed.(It has been suggested that the heat may be more important than smoke for the Mediterranean species like Cistus which germinate profusely after fires locally). However, smoke-stimulated germination is not limited to species from fire-prone habitats and a variety of species from fire-free habitats also respond positively. Again suppliers have responded to meet a demand and you can now buy smoke primer paper - absorbent paper impregnated with smoke-saturated water. When dormant seeds need “smoking”, you add some water to the paper in a suitable container and soak the

seeds you want in the smoke-water solution for 24 hours. In order to have the maximum effect in breaking seed dormancy, a range of natural germination stimulators has been added to the smoke solution to overcome other forms of seed dormancy found in many species. That’s more than enough technical stuff for one week – back to more mundane matters next time!

he Kathmandu restaurant on the Javea Arenal was packed to the rafters this week for it´s very colourful third anniversary, with the overwhelming attendance from both locals and those living further afield living proof that this restaurant offers holds a very special place in many restaurant-lovers hearts. Loyal customers partied until the early hours after enjoying live music by Matt Mason, fabulous Nepalese dancing by Mausami and a 3-course menu priced at only 15.50. The Nepalese restaurant in Javea has two older sisters in Denia and Moraira and a younger one in Albir. There is no sense whatsoever of “a chain” however; the restaurants are very much family-run. In Javea I met the uncle (an internationally experienced chef who instigated the settling in the

Costa Blanca “for the weather”, the aunt, two brothers and one of the brothers´ wives. Each family member is full of smiles, but with the extended family having built 4 restaurants in under 11 years on top of their happy natures they should be very proud of themselves. A quick glimpse through the many 5-star Trip Advisor reviews and comments left on their Facebook page reveals that Kathmandu is as much appreciated for the excellent service as the high-quality dishes served. “This makes me very happy” says Durga, co-owner, still smiling like a Cheshire cat. “There is no point in working so hard at providing fresh food skilfully prepared from the best quality ingredients unless the atmosphere in the restaurant is also great, and nobody is waiting for their orders. We really want to be both very friendly and very professional.”

THE GENUINE ARTICLE Professional but also authentic with all the chefs and waiters hailing from Nepal. The “real deal” in Asian entertainment (as well as other popular live music) is a regular feature at all 4 of the Kathmandu restaurants - keep your eye on the Facebook pages for their

special nights. When I meet with Durga I sample one of his “best-sellers” from the extensive menu of Himalayan, Nepalese and Indian dishes. I have never been on a safari so I choose Chicken Safari which is chicken marinated in yoghurt, fresh mint, other spices grilled in the Tandoori. I am swooning over my spoon as I savour my safari, realising that I will be craving this as quickly as tomorrow! The only problem with this restaurant experience is it makes me want to go to Kathmandu for a very long holiday! In fact Kathmandu (the capital of Nepal) is becoming a very popular tourist destination. In 2013, Kathmandu was ranked third among the top ten upcoming travel destinations in the world by Trip Advisor and ranked first in Asia. Long flight though and not cheap! Luckily for most of us in the Cost Blanca North there is a Kathmandu near you for a much quicker spin around the globe, and with the lunch menu only 9.99 and evening menu 13.50 your wallet will barely feel a thing. Which is a very good thing as it could take you years to work through the menu that includes Tandoori, Balti, Dansak, Jalfrezi, Madras and Vindaloo. The Javea restaurant has great sea views and in terms of décor delivers a modern twist on your typical Indian restaurant being distinctly uncluttered with bright Nepalese themed photographs on the walls. Tables are not too close together and have comfy high-backed chairs inside with attractive modern wicker seating outside on the terrace. Opening hours are Mondays from 18:00 hrs until 23:30, and Tuesday until Sunday 12:30 until 16:00 and from 18:00 until 23:30. The Javea restaurant is on Avenida de la Libertad 34, opposite the Mas y Mas and carpark at the right hand end of the Arenal, if looking out to see. The booking line is 966 47 16 84.

CORRECTION Last week I misquoted Mandy Hazard, expert in cannabis oil who runs

The Healing Connection in Jalon. I got my wires crossed and made William Randolph Hearst sound like a hemp-grower. He was in fact, as many of you will know, a sensationalist newspaper mogul from 1887 onwards, and the inspiration for the character Kane in Orson Welle´s film “Citizen Kane”. In Mandy´s opinion Hearst´s empire used the “yellow journalism” that Hearst pioneered to demonize the cannabis plant and spread a public perception that there were connections between cannabis and violent crime. Looking back we don´t seem to have suffered too much violence from the hippy types now do we?! Great to hear back from Mandy that she has met quite a few people who read about her in The Weekender and have needed her help with oil, including a cancer victim, and have found some hope. Go Mandy!

Drop Quotes

Copyright © Puzzle Baron April 5, 2018 - Go to www.Printable-Puzzles.com for Hints and Solutions!

Drop Quotes are similar to cryptograms, in that the goal is for the solver to uncover a hidden quote. A black-and-white crossword-style grid is set up for each quote, with a number of letters “hovering” above each column. Your task is to “drop” each of those letters into the appropriate square in each column, until the entire quote is revealed. All punctuation (commas, periods, dashes, etc.) has been removed. Good luck!

Pego Golf Society Memorial Trophy Competition

Match Report April 3rd Today, in beautiful conditions, we played a Medal Competition for The Memorial Trophy, not everyone’s favourite format but a true test of golf. We had 42 players including 3 guests, Arne Buhs, Wayne Brander and Jim Hayward. Jim had the dubious honour of hitting the large tree on the 4th tee twice, a rare occurrence. The results were as follows: 1st, winning the trophy with a great score of 69 points off 5.3 handicap was Shaun O’Gorman 2nd was John Evans with a score of 74 points off 20.2 3rd was Penny Barden also with 74 points off 16.7 4th was Bill Pike with 75 points off 16.6 5th was our Captain Dave Phillips with 76 points off 31.2 6th was Derek Lindley with 77 points of 13.1 Shaun also had the lowest gross of the day with 76 points. He also had the nearest the pin, on Hole 16 with 3.26m, a great

day’s golf. Bill Pike had the nearest the pin on hole 5, second shot with 2.85m. The guest prize today was won by Wayne Brander with 81 points. The Balls In The Water competition was won by Stella Fox correctly guessing 129. There were no 2s today and the card draw was won by Penny Barden, helping to pay for her new golf shirt, bought as she forgot to put one on when she left home this morning. There were 2 match plays today, Russ Peters beat Paul Trigwell 8 and 7, Carla Chaszczewski beat Ian Robertson 2 up.

Javea Green Bowls Club´s Easter Trips attracts a record number of bowler

Patrick Lynch put up a birthday bottle prize and this was won by Donna Green. Next week we have a Yellow Ball Competition, guaranteed to have the nerves jangling, any guests wishing to play, subject to handicap contact Penny Barden on pegohandicapsec@gmail.com

Benitachel Bowls CLub Lions NORTH/SOUTH PLAY OFFS The 2nd April saw the Benitachell Bowls Club Lions, Northern League Champions for the ninth time, in the North/ South playoff. Southern League division A winners, the Quesada Swallows were the opposition and the finals took place at Bonalba Bowls Club. For the first few ends the Lions were up on three games and down on two. Slowly the Swallows started to pull ahead on all rinks, bar one, where our stalwarts of skip Jeff Richards, Noel Ovenall and lead Rod Warnes really dug in and kept the lead with some excellent team bowling, they finished up

our only winning triple. The rest of the Lions kept coming back but the Swallows were too strong and the game finished 8 – 2 down. The photo taken at the end of the game shows all the Lions could still raise a smile. Many thanks must go to Barry Watson and the members of the Bonalba Bowls Club who hosted this event and supplied excellent catering. Many thanks also to Tony Carroll who umpired the day and to Peter Hill for all his hard work in the smooth running of the league and this playoff and last but not least the few members who came to give support.

You know Spring has sprung when the Javea Easter Trips takes place. The format of two 10 end games a day for two days and one game on day three ( unless of course you reached the quarter, semi or finals) attracted 36 teams from all the neighbouring clubs. So many bowlers wanted to participate that an unprecedented 9 rinks were brought into play. With names as bizarre as Mutton Jeff, Nearly Brummies, Ebowla Bad Webowla Great and The Toss Pots, it was always going to be a fun competition. Every day the bowlers turned up to find a chocolate Easter bunny with their score card, a nice touch arranged by Competition organisers Keith and Dee Hamilton which was much appreciated by the competitors. The semi finals were well represented by BBC, El Cid and Javea teams. The Finalists were FAD from El Cid and DJ´s from BBC. As finals go this was superb, with only 8 ends to play it was a hard fought low scoring game with both teams tied 5-5 at the end, so an extra end was called for. This could not have been more exciting if it had been choreographed as FAD were holding shot

but a last wood from the DJ´s skip Jacquie ´used´ a side wood to gain the shot. With his last wood of the match and one down in the head FAD´s skip Alan changed his favoured hand, aimed at and managed to move the shot wood to win the game. The crowd were quiet for a second as they could not believe what they had witnessed, then erupted into cheers and applause. Winners FAD, Debbie & Floyd Williams and Alan Ferrand lifted the cup, €300, bottles of cava and Easter Bunnies. Runners up The DJ´s Jacquie Roberts, Judy Hughes and super sub Sam Hughes were presented with €150, bottles of cava and Easter Bunnies. Prizes were courtesy of sponsors Clive Webster of Webstor Asessores who was present and Oscar Anton of Anton Abogados who due to commitments was unable to attend. An excellent competition which ran like clockwork due to the hard work and efficiency of Dee and Keith Hamilton provided a great start to the Easter Holidays.
