Fue concebida por el despacho Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, una empresa involucrada en importantes proyectos arquitectónicos en México y en otros países, que incluyen centros comerciales, desarrollos hoteleros, residencias particulares o edificios corporativos. Así, la construcción integra de manera magistral, locales comerciales en la planta baja, un hotel que ocupa 8 niveles y sky pool, así como 16 pisos para oficinas.
This building was conceived by the Architectural Firm of Sordo Madaleno, a company involved in some of the major architectural projects in Mexico and in other countries, including shopping centers, hotel developments, private residences and corporate buildings. As a result, this construction integrates in a masterful way, commercial offices on the ground floor, an eight level hotel with sky pool, as well as 16 floors of office space.

Vainilla de Papantla: Un sabor con leyenda VANILLA OF PAPANTLA: A FLAVOR WITH LEGEND
LEYENDA DE LA VAINILLA
Una maravilla aromática que nació en la tierra mexicana y ha llegado a todos los rincones del mundo es la Vainilla de Papantla: Su calidad no tiene comparación, es rica en aromas y, al utilizarse en distintos platillos, resalta los más variados sabores. Fue cultivada por los totonacas hace más de 2 mil años donde hoy es la región cálida-húmeda de Papantla, Veracruz; para este pueblo la planta representó una forma de comprender el origen del cosmos, así que recolectarla era una actividad místico-religiosa. Con la llegada de los europeos, la vainilla permitió hacer perfumes y aromatizar el chocolate en España; a partir de 1800, la planta llegó a Inglaterra, Francia, las islas del Océano Índico y Madagascar. Pero para ratificar frente al mundo su lugar de nacimiento, en el año 2009 la vainilla obtuvo la Denominación de Origen. La fecundación o polinización se da una vez al año -aunque también es cultivada y recolectada a mano en invernaderos- y de cada vaina sólo se obtiene el 2% de vainilla, por lo que puede llegar a tener un precio elevado. Las vainas miden de 15 a 23 centímetros de largo, son delgadas y contienen numerosas semillas pequeñas; se recolectan cuando aún están verdes -en enero y febrero-, son calentadas para impedir que broten, y son secadas al sol para que se vuelvan oscuras y potencializar los cristales de vainillina, que le dan su fragancia embriagadora.

Teniztli (el rey totonaco) consagró a su hija Tzacopontziza al servicio de Tonacayohua (la diosa de la siembra), pero la joven conoció al príncipe ZkotanOxga y se enamoró. Él la raptó, los sacerdotes los apresaron, ofrecieron sus corazones a la diosa Tonacayohua y en el lugar del sacrificio brotó un arbusto y una orquídea que se cubrió de flores de exquisito aroma. Así fue como de la sangre de la princesa nació la vainilla.
THE LEGEND OF VANILLA Teniztli (Totonac King) devoted his daughter to the service of Tonacayohua Tzacopontziza (the goddess of crops), but the young girl met Prince ZkotanOxga and fell in love. He kidnapped her, and the priests soon after apprehending them, offered their hearts to the Goddess Tonacayohua. In the site of slaughter bloomed a shrub and an orchid which was covered with flowers of exquisite flavor. It is from this that from the blood of the Princess vanilla was born.
A wonderful aromatic which was born in the land of Mexico and has reached all corners of the world is the Papantla vanilla. Its quality has no comparison, it is rich in aromas and, when used in various dishes, it highlights the most varied flavors. It was cultivated by the Totonac people more than 2 thousand years ago, where the warm-humid region of Papantla, Veracruz is today. For these people the plant represented a way to understand the origin of the cosmos, thus harvesting it was a mystical and religious activity. With the arrival of the Europeans, vanilla was used to make perfumes and give flavor to chocolate in Spain. Starting the year 1800, the plant reached England, France, the islands of the Indian Ocean and Madagascar. However, to ratify its birthplace before the world, in the year 2009 vanilla obtained its Certificate of Origin. Fertilization or pollination happens only once a year, although it is also cultivated and harvested by hand in greenhouses. From each pod only 2 per cent of vanilla can be obtained, which is why it can reach high prices. The pods measure 15 to 23 centimeters long, they are thin and contain many small seeds, and are harvested when they are still green in January and February. They are heated to prevent them from sprouting, and then dried in the sun, so they can become darker and strengthen the vanillin crystals, which give its intoxicating scent.

gigante despierto the awaken giant Por: David Vega Comienza nuestro viaje a lo largo de la carretera número 54, rumbo a Ciudad Guzmán: Paisajes de una laguna seca nos acercan a lo que desde lejos podemos ver, a un gigante despierto, es el Nevado de Colima, que tiene más de 4,300 metros de altura. Pronto nos acercamos a sus faldas, surcadas por profundas barrancas, y un bosque de pino, encino y oyamel nos saluda. Es posible, si se tiene la paciencia y una buena condición física, internarse en el bosque para ver pasar un puma o a un halcón surcar los cielos. Después de una minuciosa verificación que hacen los guardabosques a nuestro vehículo, nos dan acceso al Parque Nacional del Nevado y comienza nuestro ascenso. A lo lejos vemos la punta del coloso, pintada de blanco por la nieve, y el frío es intenso, de ese que cala hasta los huesos. Our journey begins along Highway 54, heading to Ciudad Guzman. In the distance we can see the tip of the colossus, painted white due to the snow. The cold weather is intense, the kind that is bone-wrenching.

Nuestros sentidos son invadidos: La espectacular vista, los olores y sonidos propios del bosque nos animan a seguir; pronto llegamos al último lugar donde es posible dejar el vehículo, hay una serie de pequeñas cabañas y un café es nuestro mejor aliado para comenzar el ascenso. La percepción se magnifica y la nieve nos comienza a envolver. La caminata es de aproximadamente 40 minutos, pero se prolonga hasta por un par de horas al detenernos a explorar los senderos que nos pone el camino; es posible, si hace buen tiempo, deslizarse un poco en la nieve o, incluso, hacer un muñeco. Llegamos a las antenas y, de verdad, el paisaje es glorioso: Un bosque que cambia de distintas tonalidades verdes al blanco de la nieve. ¡No hay aire tan puro y gratificante!

We soon reach the last place where we can leave the vehicle. There are a number of small cabins, and some coffee is our best ally to begin the ascent.
Llevar un par de binoculares hizo de la visita una experiencia única en observación de aves, pues hay más de 117 especies. Para subir un poco más la adrenalina, sacamos las bicicletas y nos dirigimos a la larga ruta en la brecha de El Milanés; incluso, se puede acampar en La Joya, que cuenta con refugios para los campistas y tiene servicios básicos. Decidimos descender y dirigirnos a Ciudad Guzmán, donde nos recibió su plaza, sus portales, el pan recién horneado y las fabulosas tostadas tradicionales, que comimos para reponer energía y seguir explorando esa zona tan mágica como poco conocida. Perception magnifies itself and snow starts to surround us. The hike is about 40 minutes, but it extends to for a couple of hours because we stop to explore the trails which sets us on the path. If the weather is good, you can slide a little in the snow, or even make a snowman.
We decided to descend and go to Ciudad Guzman, where we were received by its town square, its portals, the freshly baked bread and the fabulous and traditional tostadas, which we ate to replenish energy and continue exploring this area as magical as unknown.
We arrive to the antennas and the landscape is truly glorious: a forest that changes from different shades of green to the white of the snow. No other air is so pure and rewarding!
Because of places like this, Jalisco once again surprises us with new experiences: a different taste, a unique adventure or a place guarded through the centuries to captivate us.

Acciones de vivienda en favor de los jaliscienses El Instituto Jalisciense de la Vivienda (IJALVI) planea, promueve y ejecuta acciones de vivienda popular, de interés social y acciones de lotes con servicios aptos para vivienda para que los jaliscienses quienes no cuentan con un lote los adquieran mediante un esquema de financiamiento accesible, y ha obtenido estos logros en conjunto con el Gobierno Federal y el Sector Privado:
1.-
En 2014 con un monto de inversión de $3’458,112 de pesos en Guadalajara y Zapopan, fueron realizadas 996 acciones de mejoramiento Fachada.
2.-
En 2015 firmó convenios con el Fideicomiso Fondo Nacional de Habitaciones Populares y con la fundación Corazón Urbano, A.C. para ejecutar 962 acciones de Mejoramiento de Fachada, con un monto de inversión de $3’543,623 de pesos.
3.-
Invirtió $10’211,400 de pesos en un convenio con la Corazón Urbano A.C. para ejecutar 10,400 acciones de mejoramiento de fachada que beneficiarán al mismo número de familias, y se pintaron 152 edificios habitacionales en los Municipios de Guadalajara, Zapopán y Tonalá.

Junto con el Fondo Nacional de Habitaciones Populares, la Delegación Estatal de la Secretaría de Desarrollo Agrario Territorial y Urbano, y el Fideicomiso PROVIVAH construyó 200 viviendas en Jalostotitlán y benefició a más de 800 habitantes.
5.-
Con el FONHAPO y la Fundación PROVIVAH se están edificando 52 viviendas en Zapotlanejo, con una inversión de $9’152,000 de pesos.
6.-
En los años 2014 y 2015, en coordinación con el Gobierno Federal y al Sector Privado se firmaron 6 convenios para edificar vivienda vertical dentro de los perímetros de contención urbana de la SEDATU, en los municipios de Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, Ocotlán y El Salto, con un monto de inversión en conjunto de $48’300,000 de pesos.
7.-
Firmó un acuerdo de cooperación con la Agencia Alemana de Cooperación Económica (GIZ) y la Comisión Nacional de Vivienda para el desarrollo de un proyecto piloto de 18 viviendas con eco-tecnología para la elaboración de una norma ambiental de mitigación adecuada (NAMA).
8.-
Desarrolló mediante un Organismo Ejecutor de Obra Autorizado por la Comisión Nacional de Vivienda, 125 lotes en el Municipio de Etzatlán con un monto de inversión de $11’562,500 de pesos que corresponden al ahorro previo de los Beneficiarios, subsidio del Gobierno Federal y al financiamiento.
9.-
Otorgó certeza jurídica a 487 familias mediante su escritura de propiedad de vivienda en 26 municipios de Jalisco.
