ABSTRACT

Il documento “Ripensare l’istruzione” é l’ultimo comunicato che l’Unione Europea ha pubblicato in materia di educazione e formazione (2012), ne illustra le linee guida e le politiche in sinergia con le parole chiave della comunità internazionale ed in continuità con gli obiettivi di Europa 2020. Il miglioramento dell’offerta di apprendimento viene promosso come una soluzione cardine per uscire dall’attuale crisi socio-economica che sta investendo l’Europa e il mondo: occorre ricalibrare questa offerta in sintonia con le esigenze del mercato del lavoro globale.

Le abilità apprese in ambito scolastico promuoveranno la crescita e la competitività con gli altri paesi: diventa così fondamentale capire con quali mezzi la scuola debba attrezzarsi per diventare un aeroplano di sviluppo e di crescita sostenibile per la società del ventunesimo secolo.

Rethinking education to overcome crisis The smart dimension in learning enrvironments and the realization of open education

The document “Rethinking Education” is the last communication of the European Union, published in the fields of education and training (2012): it shows the guidelines and politics in synergy with the keywords of the international community and in continuity with the Europa 2020’s objectives. The enhancement of learning offer is promoted as a cornerstone solution to overcome the actual socio-economic crisis striking Europe and the world: it is necessary to rebalance this offer in tune with the needs of the global labour market.

The abilities learnt in school environments will promote growth and competitiveness with the other countries worldwide: it becomes then key to understand with which means the school has to equip itself to become an airplane of growth and sustainable development for the 21st society.

Occorre prima di tutto fare luce su come sia cambiato il rapporto tra la conoscenza e le città e come la prima stia diventando il motore di sviluppo di queste ultime.

La cultura ed il valore delle idee hanno assunto un ruolo trainante nelle economie mondiali, che si sono trovate di fronte alla sfida di accrescere il benessere utilizzando sempre meno risorse (vedi l’ultimo post “Decoupling e città”). La conoscenza é diventata così il valore aggiunto con cui costruire il benessere sociale, occupando il ruolo centrale che prima era stato dato alla logica del consumismo. L’economia della conoscenza permette di diffondere il sapere e allo stesso tempo crea nuovi posti di lavoro, grazie alla ricerca e allo sviluppo. Charles Landry nel suo libro “Creative City: toolkit for urban innovators” descrive come le città stiano mettendo al centro delle loro politiche di sviluppo le idee e l’intelligenza umana per essere competitive a livello globale.

La stessa logica dovrebbe essere applicata non solo allo sviluppo economico delle città, ma più in generale come percorso verso il miglioramento del benessere della specie umana, come viene descritto nel documento End Poverty 2015 delle Nazioni Unite.

First of all it’s necessary to enlighten how the relationship between knowledge and cities has changed and how the first has become the engine of growth for these latter. The culture and the value of ideas have assumed a leading role in the economies worldwide, which had to face the challenge to increase wealth using less resources (see last article “Decoupling and cities”).

Knowledge has become the value added with which to build social well-being and it has occupied the central role given before to the logic of consumism.

The knowledge economy permits to spread culture and, at the same time, creates new jobs thanks to research and development activities. Charles Landry in his book “Creative City: toolkit for urban innovators” describes how cities are strengthening ideas-and-human-intelligence-centered politics to be competitive worldwide.

The same logic should be applied not only to economic development, but more generally as a pathway toward the improvement of humankind well-being, as described inside the document End Poverty 2015 of the United Nations.

E’ a partire da questa consapevolezza che l’educazione ed il ruolo dell’istruzione scolastica diventano centrali per un nuovo modello di sviluppo sostenibile.

La scuola si apre così sempre più alla comunità e alla società e da queste assimila nuove regole sociali, nuove esigenze e nuovi strumenti di interazione e di accesso all’informazione.

Fra questi ultimi l’intelligenza artificiale mette a disposizione nuovi strumenti di apprendimento che supportano nuovi modelli didattici. La didattica si fa più interattiva, più personalizzabile e questo condiziona inevitabilmente il processo dell’apprendimento: c’è una maggiore interazione tra studenti, ma anche tra questi ultimi e gli insegnanti. Il maestro non è più un guru del sapere, ma condivide un’esperienza intensa di apprendimento con gli studenti, diventa per loro una guida che li accompagna. Allo stesso tempo gli educatori dispongono di una serie di strumenti smart per insegnare in modi nuovi abilità quali il pensiero critico, la creatività, la flessibilità. Viene data importanza al lavoro di gruppo e allo sviluppo dell’imprenditorialità, in sintonia con i requisiti minimi richiesti dal mondo del lavoro in cui entreranno.

Nella scuola del ventunesimo secolo la componente virtuale si aggiunge a quella fisica; nasce così il modello dell’ e-school che permette una maggiore interazione e inclusione al sapere grazie al sistema delle relazioni globali messe a disposizione dalla rete.

Grazie all’introduzione della cibernetica non solo a scuola, ma in tutti gli ambiti della nostra vita, le opportunità di apprendimento diventano sempre meno discrete e sempre più continue, e così anche il flusso di conoscenza in cui possiamo costantemente immergerci.

E’ resa così possibile la realizzazione dell’open education, uno degli obiettivi di End Poverty 2015 delle Nazioni Unite: l’educazione diventa finalmente accessibile ovunque, da tutti, sempre.

The school is opening more and more itself to community and society and from these it ,absorbs new social rules, new tastes and needs, and new tools of interaction and access to information.

Among these, the artificial intelligence provides new learning tools that support new didactic models. Pedagogy becomes more interactive, more personalized affecting inevitably the process of learning: there is more interaction among students, but also between these latter and the teachers. The educator is no more a guru of knowledge, but he/ she shares an intense experience of learning with the pupils and becomes a guide that accompany them.

At the same time educators have a series of smart tools to teach in new ways abilities such as critical thinking, creativity and flexibility. It is given importance to teamworking and entrepreneurial skills, required by the labour sphere where the’ll be introduced.

In the 21st century school the virtual component is added to the physical one; in this way e-school model is originated, which permits more interaction and more inclusion to the knowledge sphere thanks to the global relations system provided by the web potentialities.

Thanks to the introduction of cybernetics not only in school, but in all fields of human life, the opportunities of learning become less descrete and more continuous and consequently also the knowledge flow in which we can constantly immerse.

Thanks to it, it is possible the realization of the open education model, one of the End Poverty 2015’s goals of the United Nations: education becomes finally accessible by everyone, everywhere, always.
