We go all out to save summer WATERFORD is praying for good weather to save its summer. The plan has been devised by Waterford City and County Council in consultation with tourism ansd hospitality interests, colleges, community groups and the Chambers and Commerce of Waterford and Dungarvan. It was launched by the mayor,

Mayor John Pratt with Ger Finnin, CEO of TQS Integration Ltd, at the launch of the Thermal Imaging terminals which will be installed as part of the Covid-19 Recovery Plan. “It is also for all the rural towns and villages from Tallow and Ballyduff in the west to Portlaw and Passage in the east and all points in between,” he said. “We want to rebuild and recover as One Waterford and this plan allows us the flexibility and the focus to do this” >>Turn to Page 2

WHEN this young choir from the WIT Music School couldn’t perform shoulder to shoulder they found a way to do so virtually. The Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) Youth Choir is made up of 50 singers from secondary schools all over the South East. “Each member recorded a video on their phone and the different parts were then put together to create a beautiful

performance,” explained Niall Crowley, conductor, singing teacher and lecturer at WIT. The video is dedicated to the memory of choir member Karl Kirby who passed away last year. Niall Crowley says the song, written by the band ‘Sleeping at Last’, is a reminder of “how we should treasure family and the ups and downs of our experiences at home - a message especially relevant in these times.” You can view

the video on YouTube . GOSPEL: Trinity Gospel Choir is looking for a Musical Director. The choir, which performs at charitable events in the city, rehearses once each week and sings at one church service each month and one Mass each month and at concerts and special events. If Interested you should contact Leela at leela_oshea@ yahoo.co.uk before July 1.

Our artists show they are three of the best

THE Arts Council has sent congratulations to three Waterford artists who have each been awarded a €3,000 grant to help them make new and original work during the Covid-19 crisis. They are visual artist Susan Thomson, musician Katie Sullivan and Sarah Lincoln, who is involved in arts participation. The three are among a number of artists from across the country who successfully competed to share in the €1 million scheme introduced by the Arts Council to help support artists and arts organisations through the Covid-19 crisis. They will now begin to create work in their art forms, The Arts Council said applications from County Waterford artists had scored very highly “We are very encouraged by the response to this award,” said Arts Council Director Maureen Kennelly. “The applications were of a very high standard and showed the depth and breadth of the arts in Ireland.”

New parking deal: pay for an hour and get one free A FREE hour is being offered to motorists at all the main car parks in Waterford city centre as part of the Covid-19 recovery plan. Motorists will pay for the first hour and get a second hour free. The offer will apply from June 11 and run to the end of July. All machines will be calibrated to issue a two-hour ticket when an hour is paid for. The ‘free hour’ policy follows a proposal from Cllr Eamon Quinlan but does not go as far as he wanted. Cllr Quinlan’s plan was modelled on one used at the Dundrum shopping centre in south Dublin where customers pay for the first hour of parking and get two hours free. People tend to stay at the centre for at least some of the ‘free’ time. They do a bit more shopping or use the cafés and restaurants. “The Dundrum experience has been that people shopped more, made impulse purchases, grabbed a coffee, had a meal, met up with friends and basically luxuriated in the area,” said Cllr Quinlan. He pointed out that, although Waterford’s council car parks, such as Waterside, charge less than €4 for the entire day, the

impression of many motorists is that Waterford city is overpriced for parking. “As our city centre switches to a more pedestrianised, cafe culture we should be promoting a parking structure that doesn’t incentivise a ‘grab and go’ way to shop but having people spend time in our city centre,” he said. GRANTS: Small businesses in Waterford are being encouraged to apply for the Local Authority Restart Grant, regardless of whether they have managed to operate through the pandemic, recently reopened or are due to reopen. The money is intended to help them with the costs associated with reopening and reemploying workers. It is for businesses with an annual turnover of less than €5m, employing no more than 50 people, that have suffered a loss of at least 25% in turnover to the end of June . Applications can be made at www.waterfordcouncil.ie OPEN: St Vincent de Paul has re-opened its shops in Waterford city, Tramore and Dungarvan. They closed their doors on March 16.

The council is working in partnership with TQS Integration from Lismore in developing a thermal imaging reader to add an additional level of safety for shoppers in Waterford city centre. Intensive street cleaning has been undertaken and social distancing signs will guide shoppers. Waterford council’s presentation teams had been working throughout the Covid restrictions to ensure public spaces were looking their best for the reopening. The Covid 19 Economic Recovery Plan will promote Waterford as a location of choice for the domestic tourist market, focusing on outdoor amenities and activities. Cultural activities will adapt to safely organised outdoor

events. Financial supports for businesses to provide a safe environment are available from the Waterford Council Covid-19 Restart Grant alongside a wide range of supports from the Waterford LEO office. An online Business Support Hub has brought together all of the resources, support measures and best practice advice and is an excellent one stop shop for businesses. Waterford LEO is providing free online advisory clinics to any business which is in need of specific tailored advice. A co-ordination group with representatives of the agencies involved with the plan will monitor its implementation. A comprehensive review of the plan will take place in early September to ensure that the actions are still relevant. New details may be added.

See you soon(ish), my old pub pal

I

have been on good terms with pubs for the 50plus years of my adult life. The pub is an old friend and I have shared his company with many other friends. He stood by us through thick and thin, in good times and bad. He was there for all our celebrations, confirmations and graduations; when the boat came in, the lottery ticket came up or the dark horse proved a winner. My old friend has been locked down all on his own for months and I am looking forward to getting together again and raising a glass in his company. But I wont say ‘I can’t wait’ for the pubs to re-open. I can wait, and I will wait a bit longer,

Michael Wolsey for, so long as there is a virus on the loose, pubs are dangerous places. I can think of few social settings where physical distancing is less likely to be maintained than in an Irish pub. I am not speaking here of

9

pubs that are really restaurants , where people reserve tables , stay at them and leave in good order shortly after finishing their meal. Despite what publicans would have us believe, such places are rare. Most pubs serve food nowadays and some serve very good food but, at heart, they are centres where meeting, not eating, is the main function. The Irish pub is a kaleidoscope that changes throughout the day. I like pubs in the early evening, when people are heading home from work. Nobody lingers long but you never know who you will meet at the bar, with a good story to tell or a piece of tasty gossip. I like pubs when there is a big

match on the television. You don’t need a ticket; just join the crowd, cheer for your team, and you’ll soon be a member of the supporters’ club. I like pubs when I bring my own company there with me. Sometimes my company will join with someone else’s company and it all becomes a happy rolling maul. I like to call into a pub on the way home from an evening’s entertainment. I drop in with

a friend, knowing there is every chance we will meet other friends and round off the night with good conversation. That’s the great thing about pubs. You don’t need a ticket or reservation, you can keep to yourself or mix with the mob, make a friend for the evening or a friend for life. And, yes, you can even eat there. But that has never been the real purpose of an Irish pub and I can’t see it becoming the

real purpose, no matter how strictly publicans try to enforce the new rules, I appreciate that many publicans are struggling to keep their businesses alive and I hope the plan for earlier re-opening works for them and for the country. In general, though, I am wary of pressure to speed the end of lockdown. The new dates are sensible and we should stick to them. The roadmap has been well thought out; it gives us a chance to see whether limited loosening of the rules brings growth in infection and to assess developments in other countries. It would be tragic if, having made so many sacrifices and wrecked the economy, we were now to move too fast and find ourselves back at stage one. Maybe that’s a risk worth taking when it comes to schools, offices, or factories. But it is not worth taking for the pleasure of enjoying a pint in good company. Particularly if the rules mean that there can’t be good company. So, sorry my old pub pal. I do very much hope to see you again soon. But not too soon.

Money advice: broker v bank

Many people go to a bank when they want advice on Mortgages, Investments and Pensions. If this is your strategy, you may be missing out on some very significant benefits.A Standard Life and Brokers Ireland Survey in February 2016 shows those who used a Financial Broker: •Have nearly three times the savings and investments than those who don’t •Are more than twice as likely to have a pension •Are more financially protected as a result of holding more financial products •Feel more financially confident and more confident about their financial future. Here are the main reasons why it pays to use a Financial Broker: •Choice - The biggest advantage of a Financial Broker over a bank is choice. When you sit in front of a Financial Broker you have access to a choice of product providers versus ac-

TDs ‘must unite’ for better cardiac care

A HOSPITAL lobby group has called on TDs to ensue that the next goverment “will categorically require the definitive delivery and implementation of 24/7 cardiac care at UHW”. “Nothing less will suffice,” says the South East Patient Advocacy Group (SEPAG) in a statement. SEPAG names Waterford’s Matt Shanahan as one of three Independent TDs it says were “elected by people in the southeast with 24/7 cardiac care at UHW being a red line regional issue for all of them.” It also names Michael Lowry (Tipperary) and Verona Murphy (Wexford) and calls for a united campaign by all the South East’s representatives/ “SEPAG has been calling on all our TDs, both party affiliated and independent, to work together on this issue for some time now,” the statement says. “This issue has now been kicked around like a political football for eight years and the people of the South East want action and delivery now and no more empty promises.”

Union with skin in game

A UNION has made a donation to help nurses in Waterford cope with one of the side-effects of the battle against Covid-19. The Communications Workers Union (CWU) has raised €70,000 for the purchase of ‘Propolis’ cream to counter the damaging effects on skin from prolonged wearing of PPE by frontline nursing staff . The union said it wanted to provide support in a practical way for nurses in University Hospital Waterford. Waterford CWU Branch

Officer, Jason Caulfield, said: “The whole nation has been in awe of the courage, dedication and shear professionalism of front line medical staff. “This relatively small donation by the union is as a result of numerous requests from branches and postal and communications workers across the country to recognise this amazing contribution in a very practical way. The choice of Propolis cream has come from discussions with the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) and we

New whiskey is feather in cap for Blackwater

BLACKWATER Distillery has officially launched its first whiskey, a limited batch release of 6,000 bottles . Velvet Cap is a premium blend of 50% malt and 50% grain whiskies, sourced from some of Ireland’s finest distilleries. In late 2018, Blackwater Distillery became the first of a new breed of Irish producers when it scaled up and moved into a purpose-built whiskey distillery in Ballyduff Upper, Co Waterford. While their own new-make spirit matures, the team have brought a local bonder brand back to life. The distinctive taste of Velvet Cap comes courtesy of head distiller John Wilcox, who was inspired by the history of the original Velvet Cap bottling from Dungarvan. In the days before bourbon casks were common in Ireland, whiskey bonders used whatever barrels they had to hand to mature their stock. In this part of the world, stout and port were favourites, so John first blended the whiskey before

letting the flavours marry in seasoned casks for up to six months. “We’ve always been whiskey drinkers, not whiskey collectors,” explained Peter Mulryan, of Blackwater Distillery. “The idea behind Velvet Cap was to create a whiskey to be savoured, not stashed away on a shelf. This is a dram I want people to return to again and again.” The tasting notes describe Velvet Cap as “candied banana n the nose with a hint of honey, dark stone-fruit and a quiet note of almond biscuit”. The name harks back to another tradition - it is is a reference to the headgear traditionally worn in point-topoint horse racing. Velvet Cap is priced €39.95 and is available in Waterford from Ardkeen QFS, World WideWines, SuperValu Cappoquin, No 21, Carry Out Ferrybank & Tramore Off Licences. You can purchase online from www.IrishMalts. com .

NEW car sales have crashed in Waterford but a survey suggests they may bounce back -with women buyers contributing significantly to the recovery. Research, by dmg media Ireland, has found that despite the impact of Covid-19 on the economy, almost half of Irish women say their plans to buy a car in the near future have not changed . Of these, 24% bought their last car as new. Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show that sales of new cars have taken a serious hit everywhere with the decline more severe in Waterford than in any other county. Car registrations here dropped to 1,249 in the year to the end of May, down 44% on the 2,236 registered in the same period last year. The per centage drop was the highest in the country, followed

by Dublin. Waterford’s share of Ireland’s new vehicle market has dropped from 2.82% to 2.41%. Retail showrooms remained closed until May 18, because of Covid restrictions, impacting heavily on sales. New car sales for the month of May were down by moe than 70%. Used car imports fell by more than 90%. The dmg media survey offered hope that sales could bounce back. It found that two thirds of Irish women belive cars have taken on more importance in their lives during lockdown, as a safer means of getting around than public transport. Two in every five Irish women questioned said they would consider booking a service soon and plan to use their car more in the near future. A separate survey has found that Waterford consumers are

deeply confused about the environmental impact of their motor vehicle and wider car options available to them. Almost 80% of those surveyed said the Government’s proposed 2030 ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars is unachievable. Almost 9 out of 10 (86%) drivers here admitted they don’t know the CO2 emissions from their current vehicle. The survey, commissioned by the Irish Car Carbon Reduction Alliance, found that 44% of consumers would be willing to buy a car with an internal combustion engine if it could be shown to be more environmentally friendly. However, 42% of respondents, rising to 60% among 18-24 year olds, said the planned 2030 combustible engine ban would stop them buying a diesel or petrol engine car .

are delighted to be working with them on this initiative. “We realise that this donation will only be sufficient for approximately 5,000 nurses across 25 hospitals, but we hope other unions, groups or employers might consider doing something similar.”

Car sales crash but recovery is on the cards

7-spot ladybirds (Photo Justin Ivory) Relax, there’s nothing sleazy going on here, I’m referring to ladybirds. Two separate projects are trying to monitor the distribution of ladybirds in Ireland and need the help of all you citizen scientists out there. First up is the Ladybird Atlas 2025 project being run by the brilliant folks at the National Biodiversity Data Centre (NBDC). The project has two main aims, first, to increase the amount of observation of ladybirds in order to produce more comprehensive distribution maps for all 19 species of ladybird. And second, to improve knowledge of habitat preferences of the different species of ladybird. Records can be inputted on their website and via their Biodiversity app. The second project, the Irish Ladybird Survey is being run in conjunction with UCC, IWT, Fota Wildlife Park, National Museum of Ireland and Biology. ie. It also aims to track the distribution of ladybirds across Ireland, in particular, the invasive Harlequin ladybird. The Harlequin is an Asian species of ladybird and was first recorded in Ireland in 2010. It is spreading rapidly and is a real threat to our native ladybird species as it preys on their larvae and out competes them in terms of diet and reproduction. Our native ladybird species mate once a year, whereas Harlequins, can breed 3 times in a year. Your ladybird records can be submitted via the Biology. ie website or the specially designed android app Irish Ladybird Survey. Ladybirds are beetles belonging to the insect family Coccinellidae. There have been 19 species of what are usually referred to as Ladybirds recorded in Ireland. Adult ladybirds hibernate through the winter and emerge in March and April. During May the males and females mate. Females lay their eggs in June and July. These eggs hatch as larva. The larva feed up on aphids and other prey and eventually form pupae. During August the new adults emerge from the pupae.

Good Vibrations Buy as stream/download

Enda Kenny’s position as Taoiseach was thrown into turmoil by an explosive political scandal which threatened to collapse his government, and ultimately cost Kenny his job. Gavan Reilly offers an enthralling blow-by-blow account of the Maurice McCabe scandal: how a Garda whistleblower was targeted by a smear campaign, and how the government’s botched response led to a loss of trust in its leader. Compiled through exhaustive research and interviews with key figures, Enda the Road is the ultimate account of a nine-day political whirlwind that brought down a Taoiseach.

An oldie but a goldie ... if you know, you know, but if you have never sampled any of Joss Whedon’s subversive supernatural drama from the late 1990s, behold all seven seasons. Sarah Michelle Gellar is undeniably great as the high-school student chosen by fate to battle evil forces, but ultimately it is the show’s unique mix of comedy, alienation and rich subtexts that has allowed it to age so well. The series narrative follows Buffy Summers the latest in a line of young women known as ‘Vampire Slayers’.

The music biopic is a slipshod genre at best, but this portrait of Terry Hooley, the Belfastborn cornerstone of Northern Ireland’s punk scene is an exception. Played by Richard Dormer, Hooley is a holy mess of naive enthusiasm and financial disarray, yet a force for good in a time of sectarian conflict. If a bit of communal uplift is what you need, look no further. On Rotten Tomatoes the film has an approval rating of 94% based on reviews from 36 critics - definitely worth a look if need something to cheer you up.

In Loving Memory

2nd Anniversary DESI MCEVOY

Unseen and unheard but always near, So loved, so missed, so very dear

Birthday Remembrance GAVIN MITCHELL

2nd Anniversary & Birthday Remembrance MABEL GRANT

In loving memory of Patrick (Paddy) Coughlan, late of Morrissons Avenue, Waterford, whose 90th Birthda occurs on 30th April. Today would have been a special day, But now it brings sadness and sorrow, If I could just share one more day, If there was just one more tomorrow, But birthdays are a time for reflection, To look over a year thats gone past, And I can’t believe a year has gone by, The time has gone so fast..., But memories of all the happy times, In my heart will stay, I treasure each and every one, Till we meet again some day, So I say ‘goodbye’ for now Paddy, And blow a kiss to you above, To wish to you a happy 90th Birthday, And send you all my love. - Always in my heart and forever missed, your loving wife May x R.I.P. Well Dad, Its just a little word from all of us down here, We just want you to know how much we love and wish that you were here, You left behind great memories, Dad, that we will never forget, birthdays, Christmases, You were such a hard working man Dad, you gave us what you had, That’s why you stood out from the crowd as our special Dad, My God you really did us proud. So we are thinking of you on your special Birthday, 89 years. You know what they say Dad, it never really is goodbye, Until we see you again. - Have a lovely Birthday in Heaven, sadly missed and loved so much from your daughter Carol, Martin, Darren, Hayley, Wayne, Sophie, Jamie, your son Paul , Valarie, Ryan, Neeva, your son John, Ann, Gary, Steven, Lauren, Ryan, your grand daughter Michelle and David, love and miss you so much xx.

MIRACULOUS, PRAYER TO ST. THERESA, THE LITTLE FLOWER O Glorious, st. Theresa whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and counsel mankind. I invite your miraculous intercessiodarraghn. So powerful are you in obtaining every need of body and soul, Our Holy Mother Church proclaims, you a prodigy of Miracles. The Business Saint of Modern Times, now I fervently beseach you to anser my petition (mention here) and carry out our promise of doing good upon earth, of letting fall from Heaven a shower of roses. Henceforth, Dear Little Flower, I will fulfil your plea to be made known everywhere and I will never cease to lead others to Jesus through you. Amen..D.P

Birthday Remembrance for Gavin Mitchell, late of 12 Harbour View, Scotch Quay, whose birthday occurs on the 12th of June. Too young to die, too precious to lose, precious people are very few, That’s why Gavin, there was only one of you, That awful day you left me, Is always on my mind, and though I try to reason why, no answers can I find, God must have known how much I’d hurt, the day He made us part, When He took away my lovely soulmate, He surely broke my heart, He must have had his reasons, a mystery, still to me, He must have had a special place, that no one else can fill, I miss your sunny nature, your smiling, happy face, And no one else in the world,

Could ever take your place, You’ll never be forgotten, Gavin, I’m sure you know that’s true, You can’t forget someone you love, As much as I love you, One special person, one special face, And in my heart a special place Gavin no words, no verse can really say, What I feel on this your birthday, I want to tell you something Gavin, so there won’t be any doubt, You’re so wonderful to think of but so hard to live without.

5th Anniversary & Birthday Remembrance Lynda Gallagher

Unseen and unheard but always near, So loved, so missed, so very dear 14th Anniversary PATRICK O’REGAN

7th Anniversary PETER SHORTALL

We think of you in silence And often speak your name, All we have are memories And a picture in a frame, You had a smile for everyone, You had a heart of gold, You left the dearest memories This world could ever hold. We lost a mother with a heart of gold, How much we miss her can never be told, She shared our troubles and helped us along, If we follow her footsteps we will never go wrong. Softly the leaves of memories fall, Gently we stoop and gather them all, Unseen, unheard, yet always near, Still loved, still missed, still very dear, Although we smile and make no fuss, No one misses you more than us, Quietly today your memory we treasure, Loving you always, forgetting you never. - Too dearly loved to be forgotten, from your sons and daughters, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and all your family and friends.

9th Anniversary John ( Jack) O’Farrell

In loving memory of Peter Shortall late of 25 Pinewood Avenue, Hillview, Waterford whose 6th anniversary occurs on the 7th of June. The day you passed, My world stood still, I always loved you, I always will. Why God took you away, It still makes me wonder, Why I have to hurt, And keep falling asunder, All I can do is try pick up the pieces, And remember the good times, Because you always completed me. Will those who think of him today, A little prayer to Jesus say. - Your loving wife Joan xxxx You left us quietly, Your thoughts unknown, You left us memories, We are proud to own, So treasure our Dad, Lord, In your garden of rest, For he was our Dad, And he was the best. - Love from your son Aiden, daughter-in-law Liz and grandchildren Colin, Aoife, Darragh and Blaithin-Colette

Memories have such lovely ways, Of bringing back our yesterdays, Each of us in our own way, Have special thoughts of you today. - Loved and remembered by all your family.

Novena to the Sacred Heart Dear Heart of Jesus, in the past I have asked for many favours, this time I ask for this one special favour (mention favour). Dad, Day by day you are longer gone, But the pain lingers on, Not a day goes by that you are not in our thoughts, It feels like only yesterday you were here, But now all we have left are fond memories, And your laughter ringing in our ear, My father, my mentor, my friend. - Sadly missed but forever in our hearts, love from your son Wayne, daughter-in-law Jessica, grandaughter Grace and your grandson Noah-Peter xx You always had a smile to share, Time to give and time to care, Someone to talk to, kind and true, Those are the memories we have of you. Will those who think of Peter today, A little prayer to Jesus say. -From your brother in law Raymond What he suffered he told but few, He did not deserve what he went through Tired and weary he made no fuss, But tried so hard to stay with us, We did not see you close your eyes, We did not see you die, All we know was that you were gone, Without a last goodbye, Will those who think of Peter today, A little prayer to Jesus say.

O’Regan, late of 140 Lismore Park, Waterford, whose 12th Anniversary occurs on the 10th June. The lonely way you had to die, Its always on our minds, We wondered if you called our names, We wondered if you cried, No one you loved was by your side, To hear your last sigh, or even say good-bye, So when we are at your graveside Patrick, The pain is hard to bear, To know we have to turn away, And leave you sleeping there, You may be in a graveyard Patrick, But you will never be alone, Because part of us went with you, The day God called you home, They say there is a reason, they say that time will heal, But neither time nor reason, Will ever change the way we feel. So god forgive us if we weep, For a beautiful son we loved and wanted to keep. - Never forget you,

- Sadly missed by your auntie and godmother Joan, cousins Lee, Aiden, Wayne and families We wished upon a star last night, We hope it will come true, What we wished for was one hour, To sit and talk with you, To tell you what is happening, Since you went away, And let you know how very much, We miss you every day. - Lots of love from Auntie Maura and Jimmy xx Too young to die, Too precious to lose, Precious people are very few, That’s why Patrick there was only one of you, God must have thought you special Patrick, To take you the way he did, They say he only takes the best, And this he surely did. - Miss you so much Patrick, all our love, your cousin Lloyd, and Lydia, Emily Mae & Lexie xxxx

I often lay awake at night, When the world is fast asleep I think about the husband I lost, With the tears upon my cheeks, I cannot get over losing you, No matter how I try, I will always love & remember you, Until the day I die, Love him Lord as I did, Don’t let him see me cry For the years we spent together, No millionaire could buy. - From your wife Kitty What do I say, where do I start To put into words what I feel in my heart, The tears in my eyes may not glitter, My face may not be always sad But deep in my heart There is a longing for the love of the Dad I had. - From your son Paul, his wife Amy and grandchildren Min and Siún.

When we see your picture Linda, you smile at us and day, Please don’t be sad or cry, I am o.k., But each day is harder, as we try to get by, So much has changed since you have been gone, But it’s your memory that helps us carry on, So we go to where you rest, it’s where we feel most near, We say a little prayer to you, Lynda we are here, So sleep softly, loving daughter, beautiful sister, As time passes by, until we will be together again, Like we were in precious days gone by, To have you as a daughter and sister, was enough for pride, No one will ever replace you, no matter how they try - We love and miss you so much, your loving Mam May, sister Carol & Martin, brother Paul & Valarie, John & Ann and all your nieces and nephews and all the Coughlan family. Happy Birthday Lynda and Dad, forever and for always xxxx. o holy st anthony Gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for your neighbour, made you worthy while on earth to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought I implore of you to obtain for me my request....(Pause) The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so you are the saint of miracles. O gentle and loving St Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, intercede for me and whisper my prayer into the ear of the sweet Infant Jesus who loved to linger in your arms and the gratitude of my heart will be yours. P.G.
