Hospital now ‘a political football’
HEALTH care has become the key issue in the Waterford election campaign. But a split has emerged in the united front behind which the city and county have fought for better hospital facilities. A community group that has campaigned tirelessly for round-the-clock cardiac care at University Hospital Waterford has come out publically to stress it remains non-political. The South East Patient Advocacy Group (SEPAG) admits that its campaign has splintered. It claims to have been excluded from vital meetings and fears the issue is “being kicked around like a political football” by election candidates. In a statement SEPAG said it had been set up by a group of ordinary people concerned about loss of investment into services at UHW and the failure of the HSE to implement a 24/7 cardiac care service for the people of the South East region.

The statement said: “It was unanimously agreed by all founding members that the most important ethos of SEPAG was that we would be a nonpolitical community-based people-led campaign - a voice for all. We were willing to work with anybody for the benefit of the campaign as long as they respected our people-led nonpolitical stance. “In spite of our best efforts to keep the group ethos intact the campaign was sadly splintered and led down a political route. SEPAG was then systematically excluded from vital meetings. We recently discovered the decision regarding the implementation of an 8 - 8 cardiac service at UHW was agreed upon between a government TD and one individual campaigner, who claims to be campaigning for 24/7, in a secret meeting without any consultation or Turn to page 4

Fine Gael candidate John Cummins has welcomed his party’s plans to reduce the cost of healthcare for children. “The news that Fine Gael in government will introduce free GP care to all children and teenagers under the age of 18 ... will be welcomed by families right across Waterford,” he said.

Sinn Féin will deliver the largest public house building programme in the history of the State said its candidate, Waterford TD David Cullinane.

WATERFORD Older People’s Council says it views with “serious concern” plans to extend the State pension qualification age from 66 years to 67 by 2021 and 68 years by 2028
Stop the jargon
The National Adult Literacy Agency has called on candidates to abandon jargon and avoid terms such as ‘key’, ‘slimming down’ and ‘going forward’.
He’ll top the poll
Una Dunphy, candidate for People Before Profit, says she thinks Sinn Féin’s’s David Cullinane will top the poll in Waterford.
From front page collaboration at all whatsoever with SEPAG. “We are once again being forced to watch the campaign being kicked around like a political football by election candidates promising people the sun, moon and stars for their vote knowing they cannot deliver what people want and need.” Prominent hospital
campaigner, Cllr.Matt Shanahan, has meanwhile launched his campaign to win a seat . The Independent candidate (picture) said Waterford had got “next to nothing” from the from the last nine years of Government. “This could be Waterford’s time,” he said. “But only if Waterford people consider carefully and choose wisely.” Sinn Féin TD and candidate,
David Cullinane, has said this party will tackle the trolley crisis head on by ending the recruitment embargo, hiring more nurses and midwives, opening more beds . And Fianna Fáil TD and candidate Mary Butler has expressed concern that nursing homes could be the latest sector affected by the insurance crisis. ”Fine Gael has buried its head in the sand on the insurance issue,” she said.
Election debate for business leaders
AN election debate for the business community is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4. The debate, jointly hosted by Waterford and Dungarvan & West Waterford Chambers, will take place from 7pm in the Theatre Royal. Many of the local general election candidates will debate the election topics. Each candidate will get the opportunity to outline their policy and will take questions from the audience. The free event is restricted to to Waterford and Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber members.Registration is essential at www. waterfordchamber.ie A pre-election snap poll conducted over the past week by the Institute of Directors in Ireland has found that another Confidence and Supply Arrangement is the election outcome least favoured by business leaders.A government with a clear majority is their strong preference.
Halligan’s retirement prompted by abuse ONLINE abuse was a contributory factor in junior minister John Halligan’s decision not to defend his Waterford seat. He said he had also received death threats and a crown of thorns had been sent to him in the post. “You get abuse at everything. It’s horrendous,” Mr Halligan told Damien Tiernan on WLRFM’s Deise Today. “I remember when I led the abortion referendum and samesex marriage campaigns in Waterford, the stuff that came in on top of me. People were sending letters through my door. “I had a crown of thorns sent to me in the Dáil that was delivered in a padded packet, all sealed up in an envelope.” Mr Halligan revealed that during the abortion referendum campaign “my daughter was hemmed in a restaurant here in Waterford by some of the ProLifers. Now, they are not all like that, but some of them were really outrageous abusing you, really shouting abuse at you. “My mother was dead, and they were sending me things like ‘If your mother could come up from the grave, what would she think of you now?’ Some of the stuff was appalling.” Mr Halligan (65) was first elected to the Dáil in 2011 and was returned in 2016 as a member of the Independent Alliance grouping. He became
Minister of State for Training, Skills, Innovation, Research and Development. Before the Dáil, Mr Halligan was a member of Waterford City Council having been elected in 1999 for the Workers Party. His retirement means there are only two TDs running in the four-seat Waterford constituency. Fine Gael’s John Deasy had already announced he would not be running. Senator Paudie Coffey, who narrowly lost out to Deasy for the final seat in the 2016 general election, announced last December he would not be contesting the election. Independent councillor Matt Shanahan, who is heavily involved in the campaign for 24/7 cardiac care, is believed to have an an outside chance of a seat. Labour Party councillor and current Waterford mayor John Pratt and Green Party councillor Marc O’Cathasaigh also hope to be in contention for the fourth seat. The full field is: Mary Butler (FF), Eddie Mulligan (FF), David Cullinane (SF), Damien Geoghegan (FG), John Cummins (FG), Marc O’Cathasaigh (GP), John Pratt (Lab), Una Dunphy (PBPSol), Matt Shanahan (Ind), Bernadette Philips (Ind), Ronan Cleary (Renua)

New trains on way but you’ll have a long wait BIGGER trains are on the way to relieve congestion on the Waterford to Dublin line But, as is often the case with rail services, commuters will have a long wait for the extra carriages.
More than 40 new carriages were ordered late last year. The good news is that some have been earmarked for Waterford. The bad news is that it could be almost two years before they are in use.
A spokesperson for Irish Rail said: “Some of these carriages are for the Waterford-Dublin Hueston line and will be coming on stream next year, late 2021.” Social media has been buzzing with stories of severe overcrowding on the Waterford line recently. In one instance, a problem with carriages caused a sixcarriage train to be shortened to four carriages. This led to delays as well as overcrowding. But crowded trains are a regular problem on the line to Hueston. Carlow senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor described rush-hour conditions on that service as “a calamity”. She said the trains were often “dangerously overcrowded”. In October Transport Minister Shane Ross announced Government approval for the purchase of 41 additional rail carriages to increase capacity and it has now been confirmed that some of these will eventually serve Waterford. There has been a 9% increase in the number of passenger journeys taken on public transport in the past 12 months, according to figures from the National Transport. Authority.
Students display their vision for our city of the future
YOUNG people of Waterford put their vision for the city on display at Garter Lane. The arts centre had invited schools to participate in Waterford 40 Years from Now, a project exploring, developing and dreaming about the city . Students from De La Salle College, Waterpark, Newtown
School, and St Angela’s put their ideas on display. The students worked alongside professional artist Jennie O’Neill to develop work based on how they imagine Waterford 40 years from now. The inclusive project involved not just the students but teachers, artists, , the staff and
patrons of Garter Lane Arts Centre, Creative Waterford, local businesses, and Cultural Quarter representatives. Picture: At the event were Hope, Orla and Tom Carey with Lily Carey, Waterpark College. Photo:John Power

Give your heart a Children asked to break: take a walk plan for a on the wild side better world
WATERFORD Chamber is launching a new ‘get healthy and active’ six-week programme. ‘Chamber Netwalk’aims to encourage the business community to get out and walk, while also using the opportunity to network and raise awareness about cardiac care. Starting today (Wednesday, January 22), Waterford Chamber will be organising lunch-time net-walking, which will be headed each week by a motivation leader. You are invited to pop along each Wednesday to William Vincent Wallace Plaza for 1pm and get active for just 30 minutes as we enjoy a walk around the city. Sadly, we are all too aware about the shortcomings in our cardiac care facilities in Waterford, so this programme is all about prevention rather than cure, says Waterford Chamber CEO Gerald Hurley, “We are all guilty of leading sedentary lives during the working week, so we want
to motivate the business community to get out and just take 30 minutes each Wednesday to look after themselves,” he said. “Our cardiac healthcare here is a major concern for everyone and we hope these walks will also help raise awareness of the situation.” The first walk is led by former Waterford senior hurler and owner of Inspiring Excellence, Shane O’Sullivan. “Taking the first steps are always the hardest but by even committing to a 30 minute walk once a week can only have a positive effect,” he said. “The new year always brings its own motivation but joining a walking group with friends and colleagues will encourage you all the more. “Each leader will choose their own route and who knows, we may even uncover some hidden gems throughout the city along the way.” To register for Chamber Netwalk, log on to www. waterfordchamber.ie
PRIMARY school children in Waterford are being invited to share their ideas on how to create a better world . They can communicate their ideas and understanding of the issues in writing, song, film, artwork or another medium of their choosing for the Our World Irish Aid Awards. The awards were launched by Ciarán Cannon, Minister of State for International Development. “Our theme of A Better World is both an invitation and a challenge to Waterford primary school pupils to think critically and creatively about how we can work together to create a more equal, peaceful and sustainable world,” he said. “I would encourage schools to take part and look forward to seeing their projects later this year.” Registered primary schools will receive curriculum-linked teaching and learning materials. Do annuities still provide value?
W
h e n taking retirem e n t b e n efits, you will usually be offered a choice between purchasing an annuity - a guaranteed pension for life - or investing in an Approved Retirement Fund [ARF] and taking an income from the invested amount. While many retirees might prefer to invest in the ARF, there are a number of instances where it might make financial sense to buy an annuity. * Single persons with no dependants have a primary need to provide themselves with an income in retirement. They don’t need to provide for dependants and therefore don’t need to preserve retirement capital. An annuity will provide them with the guaranteed income they require and if they are in poor health, an enhanced annuity may yield a better income than a standard annuity. * Retirees with small pension pots who have maximised their tax-free cash lump sums might find they’re left with relatively small pension funds, but not

are seeking a more secure alternative might also wish to purconsider chasing an annuity. Annuities are lower risk than other retirement income options and will pay a regular income no matter how long you live. You can provide an income for your spouse or civil partner when you die and the annuity can increase each year to offset the impact of inflation on your pension income. Annuities can guarantee payments even if you die, for minimum terms of up to 10 years. However, once they’ve bought an annuity, you can’t cash it in, swap it for something else or alter the annuity options. The level of your pension income is not flexible and depending on when you die, you may get back less than you paid in. Anyone considering taking retirement benefits should seek qualified pensions advice.

the witcher Even before the last series of Game of Thrones was aired, there already were several shows in production all trying to take on the, lucrative, mantle of that hit show. Some are yet to air but this one, The Witcher, has already been on Netflix and it comes as somewhat of a disappointment to say the least. Even though it boasts the presence of Henry Cavil in the main role as the titular Witcher, the programme is a mish-mash of ideas and forms that don’t really come together at all. One of it’s biggest problems is that the fantasy world that the show creates isn’t very cohesive or believable. One of the successes of Game of Thrones was, that in large part it was based on English and French royal dynasties and the power struggles seemed very real and urgent. Not so in The Witcher where it is a melding of fantasy, sex, monsters and magic. There is the fight between good and evil, but it is all just more than a little bit basic. Cavil plays the Witcher, a semi-magical being who fights monsters but the role doesn’t need him to be anything other than muscular and imposing. In fact the scripts are so threadbare that none of the characters really come to life at all. It might appeal to some viewers but to those who thrilled to the complexity and variability of Game of Thrones, they will have to wait for a different series to follow.

The Big Quiz is back WATERFORD’S biggest table quiz is returning following a hugely successful two years with more than 40 teams participating to be crowned Waterford’s Big Quiz winners. The third Big Quiz is taking place on Friday, February 7, in St. Anne’s Tennis Club, John’s Hill. The Big Quiz is different

There are prizes for first, second and third, with a perpetual trophy for the winners. The quiz will be followed by a disco with Mike Kenny playing the best
songs from the decades. The cost is €25 per team of four and includes finger food. The number of teams this year will be limited to 42 so if you want to be assured of a place call Brendan on 087-2992420 to get your team entry form. The event is sponsored by Robert Thompson Funeral Directors and all proceeds go to Children’s Group Link.
SMOKING This Japanese show is about four homeless men who have a very unusual sideline. Some days they collect used cans for recycling and cash and on other days they take on jobs where they kill people for a lot of money. They always get the right person and always offer proof of death which in the majority of cases involve excising the large tattoos that their victims wear on their skin. Unlike many other programmes the problem with this show is that it is too short. Each episode is only about 23 minutes long, but they are action-packed and the main four characters are so deftly drawn that they have an immediate impact. There are some overarching story lines that are carried through a lot of the episodes. Short but perfectly formed. HELLBOY The third movie in the franchise and by far the least interesting. Again the end of the world is about to be brought into being and Hellboy as it’s harbringer steps back from the abyss just at the last minute. Lots of effects and swearing but very little imagination. A hard pass.

Opinion&Comment
Candidate’s company owed €153,000 tax
The race is on
T
his General Election is set to be one of the most exciting elections that the Waterford Constituency has seen in a very long time. Out of the four incumbent T.D.s only two have put themselves forward for re-election which means that there will at least be two new TDs elected from Waterford to the next Dail. Who those will be out of the 11 candidates competing for the seats will be interesting to see. This is of course only the start of the campaign and as other previous elections have shown a lot can happen in the process of any election. A candidate might seem to be the favourite at the start of the election but that doesn’t mean to say that they will still hold that position at the end of the campaign. There are numerous pitfalls that candidates can fall foul of, some of them of their own making and some completely out of their own hands. Other elections have shown that party leaders can easily embroil themselves in unnecessary controversies that completely derail the campaigns of their candidates as was shown spectacularly by the Progressive Democrats at one election. With the advent of social media this capability has increased enormously and already there have been incidents where candidates in other parts of the country have effectively fouled their own campaigns by being carried away by their own rhetoric. Social media can be a great instrument to get across your message but it is not a great tool when it comes to nuance. Jokes, sarcasm and irony are all usually lost on social media and should be avoided at all costs especially when trying to appeal to so many different types of people that make up your electorate. Even before going into this election some of the main areas of debate were clear such as housing and health. Since then other issues, in particular, crime has come to dominate the headlines following a particularly brutal murder of a teenager in Dublin. This has sparked an intense debate about the whole issue of crime and in particular the issue of drugs, their sale and consumption. Of course this is an issue for us here in Waterford as are all the other areas that are being debated on a national level. However there are other areas that are intrinsically focused on Waterford with the major one being the role of UWH and heart care for the South East. This is going to be a huge issue and might even see an Independent candidate elected with that as their main focus to bring to the next Dail. Be assured however that between now and polling day things are going to get very interesting indeed.
A HAIR salon part-owned by a Waterford councillor and Fianna Fáil general election candidate was insolvent from the first year it began operating. Data held by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE) shows that the business owned by Thomas Edward Mulligan and his wife, Dervla, ended up leaving creditors – including the Revenue – out of pocket when it was placed into liquidation almost a decade later. The company, Hype Hair Salon Ltd, had tax liabilities of €153,770 when it ceased trading in 2014. The Irish Times reported that Eddie Mulligan and his wife, who were equal owners of the business and the company’s sole directors, are now restricted from operating as company directors until 2024. The newspaper said that fillings in the Property Registry show Mr Mulligan is associated with a number of property loans, some of which have been taken over by funds that bought loans from Irish banks. The Irish Times reported that Hype Hair Salon Ltd had total liabilities by the end of 2011 which exceeded the company’s assets by €259,222.

Don’t throw red herrings or upset the apple tart
I
n 1960, when television was quite new and televised debates unheard of, Richard Nixon and John F Kennedy went head-to-head in front of the cameras. Nixon had scant regard for the new medium and his preparations were poor. He refused advice on what to wear and, for the first of four debates, declined to use makeup, which he regarded as unmanly. The Republican candidate was unfamiliar with camera technique and allowed his eyes to wander across the studio, giving him a shifty appearance. The lack of makeup made him look unshaven and exposed blotches on his skin caused by a recent illness. He was seen to be sweating under the studio lights. Kennedy was young, handsome and naturally articulate. The makeup artist helped give him a bronzed, healthy look and his wardrobe advisers struck the perfect balance between
fashionable and presidential. The debates were also broadcast on radio where many of the relatively small audience thought Nixon had won. But Kennedy impressed the much bigger television audience and went on to be the 35th president of the United States. The Nixon-Kennedy clashes gave televised debates a mystique which has persisted for 60 years. It is unjustified. There is no proof that the debates secured the presidency for Kennedy and not a scrap of evidence that any other debate has ever won an election for any candidate, anywhere. For Irish politicians, too sharp a performance may even be a drawback, for we don’t seem to like our leaders to be trendsetters, orators, or even particularly good with words. The most articulate Taoiseach of the past 40 years was Garret FitzGerald. But he was a statistician who often got his facts jumbled and was easily sidetracked into rambling discourses, full of figures and irrelevant comparisons.
Charles Haughey had a certain steely authority but he was touchy and liable to snap at interviewers and opponents who engaged him in debate. He didn’t much favour debating, in any case. John Bruton had all the charisma of a wooden block and Albert Reynolds, a most able Taoiseach, rarely opened his mouth without putting his foot in it, getting names wrong and misrepresenting his own policies. In straight electoral terms, Bertie Ahern was the most successful Taoiseach, but he was a disaster when it came to addressing the public. He had the fashion instincts of a circus clown and his utterances were often a comical stream of consciousness, splattered with unfinished sentences, mixed metaphors and bizarre malapropisms - as when he warned against ‘upsetting the apple tart’ and devious activities conducted by ‘smoke and daggers’. Enda Kenny, another very successful Taoiseach, was a
poor debater, both in the Dáil and on TV. It did him no harm at all. What really harmed Nixon in that 1960 debate was his lack of understanding of the new medium of television, how it worked and how important it could be. His lack of television awareness may not have destroyed his election chances but it certainly diminished them. Today television is being overtaken in importance by the new social media and a candidate who underestimates its power or fails to understand it will suffer just as Nixon did back then. For those party leaders still worried about television debates, my advice is relax, be yourself, and remember this other piece of advice from Bertie Ahern: “I don’t think it helps people to start throwing white elephants and red herrings at each other.”

Go wild in 2020 – Part 4
book of the week
with Justin Ivory
Welcome to part 4 and the final part of our Go Wild in 2020 series, as we continue our list of simple actions you can take to make your garden a wilder and more environmentally friendly place in 2020. 10. Planting for Pollinators Beautiful butterflies, buzzing bees and mysterious moths, along with other pollinators (such as hoverflies, flies, wasps etc.) need nectar rich flowers to feed on. Plant a wide range of species, so that there are flowers available every season of the year. As much as possible stick to native wildflowers. Make sure any plants and seeds you purchase are of native stock and harvested legally and sustainably.

The Importance of Being Oscar Thursday 23 January RTE 1 10pm
1917 Released 16th January 2020
A step by step guide to starting a business in Ireland, written by Peter Cronin a lifelong entrepreneur; complete with a failure and two successes under his belt. Peter is a mentor with 25 years’ experience. He works with Local Enterprise offices and businesses across Ireland. ‘My business education was mostly in the school of hard knocks. It’s not a good educational institute. I want to prevent people going there.’ Contains pivotal information and written in an easy reading style it’s structured into three parts: Ready – prepare the business owner; Aim - get most of the business, set up in place; Fire - the launch process.
A star-studded documentary drama providing an account of Oscar Wilde’s glittering career before his trial for homosexual crimes and his tragic fall from grace. Wilde enthusiasts and experts such Stephen Fry and Wilde’s grandson Merlin Holland provide revelatory accounts of how the writer’s own life informed his work, intercut with adaptations of his comedies and books performed by a cast including Freddie Fox, Claire Skinner, Anna Chancellor and James Fleet.
1917 is a 2019 epic war film directed, cowritten and produced by Sam Mendes. At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers - Lance Cpl. Schofield (Captain Fantastic’s George MacKay) and Lance Cpl. Blake Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers - Blake’s own brother among them. The film also stars Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch.

11. Don’t forget the caterpillars There is little point planting loads of flowers for adult butterflies and moths to feed on if there is no foodplants for their caterpillars. Each species lays their eggs on the plants that the newly hatched caterpillars will feed on. These food plants are quite specific from species to species. Nettles, ivy, holly and cuckoo-flower and are some of the best butterfly caterpillar foodplants.

In January 1984 it is said that the whole of Ireland grieved the early death of Dubliner Luke Kelly. He has left an indelible mark as being the greatest folk artist of the 20th Century and his music is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s cultural treasures. Dublin singer/ songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist Chris Kavanagh was raised on Irish music and has been singing Irish folk songs since he was three years old. When Chris performs, his singing talents capture the depth and passion of the great man he was so heavily influenced by.
James Yorkston has been releasing music on Domino Records since 2002 – his debut album ‘Moving Up Country’ being ‘Rough Trade’s Album of the Year’. James was aa member of the much lauded and hugely influential Fence Collective (King Creosote, Pictish Trail, KT Tunstall, Beta Band etc). James’ first steps out of Fife as a solo artist were made in 2001 after he sent a demo cassette to folk-rock legend John Martyn asking for a support slot on the Edinburgh date of John’s upcoming tour, only for John to hear the cassette and offer James all 31 dates of the tour.
This hilarious play is set in a Nursing Home somewhere in Ireland in 2016. It’s a Friday morning and some of the residents are being moved for various reasons and for Mary O’Toole, Mary O’Neill and Mary O’Brien it’s the end of an era. For over 10 years they’ve lived together in the nursing home and despite memory lapses, the odd tantrum and a lot of confusion they have become almost inseparable. Apart from the 3 Mary’s we meet an array of other residents in the nursing home as proprietor Dan O’Shea tries to keep law and order!

12. Plant trees, shrubs and hedgerows If space allows plant a selection of native trees, shrubs and hedgerows. These will provide shelter and food for many animals. Pick a selection of species that provide a range of fruit, nuts and berries. Trees and shrubs also help to sequester carbon from the atmosphere. 13. Avoid peat-based products Peat extraction destroys important habitats so avoid using peat-based products in the garden and use other more sustainable and less damaging alternatives instead. 14. Start Composting Following on from the above why don’t you start making your own garden compost by creating a compost heap or using a dedicated composter.

You meant everything to me, You were everything a loving wife could be, My soulmate and my dearest friend, The one I loved to the very end, The loss is so hard to bear, Each time I remember you’re not here, Your voice, your smile, Your look, your touch, Are memories I miss so much, I’d do anything to bring you back, Right now, right here, right beside me, You were such a wonderful woman, And a wonderful wife indeed, You may have been taken, From my loving arms, But forever you’ll be in my heart, I miss you dearly and always will, I’ll cherish the memories of you endlessly. - From your loving husband Tony. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, He closed his arms around you And whispered “come to me” With tearful eyes we watched you, We watched you fade away, Although we loved you dearly We couldn’t make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating Hard working hands put to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He chose takes the best. It’s lonesome here without you, We miss you more each day, Life doesn’t seem the same, Since you have gone away. When days are sad and lonely, And everything goes wrong, We seem to hear you whisper, ‘Cheer up and Carry on”. Each time we see your picture, You seem to smile and say, “Don’t cry, I’m in God’s hands, We’ll meet again someday”. - From your loving sons David and John The moment that you died, My heart was torn in two, One side filled with heartache, The other died with you, I often lie awake at night, When the world is fast asleep, And take a walk down memory lane, With tears upon my cheeks. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day, But missing you is heartache, That never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart, And there you will remain, # Until the joyous day arrives, That we will meet again. - From your loving grandchildren Lee, Courtney and Brianna.

When all the world forsakes you, To father you return. For all his love and patience, He asks nothing in return. We look upon your picture, Sweet memories we recall. Of our happy day’s of childhood, Your love and care to all. - Love your son John and grand kids John Jnr, Lily and Leah A heart of gold and life so true, We miss your gentle way. We hold you deep within our hearts, And think of you each day. - Loved and never forgotten from Eamonn and Nan Today’s the anniversary of the day that I lost you, And for a time it felt as though my life had ended too. But loss has taught me many things and now I face each day, With hope and happy memories to help me on the way. Though I’m full of sadness that you’re no longer here, Your influence still guides me and I always feel you near. What we shared will never die, it lives within my heart, Bringing strength and comfort whilst we are apart. - Always in my heart & Never forgotten. Love Roisin
36th Anniversary PATRICK GREEN In loving memory of Patrick Green, late of 83 Doyle St. whose 36th anniversary occurs on the 26th January. No length of time can take away, Our thoughts of you from day to day, Time slips by and life goes on, But from our hearts you are never gone. - Always remembered by your son in law Paul and family.
