A Warrior for God’s Truth and Justice

It's Time to Stand in the Gap

written by Sandy Yozipovic

With all the distractions in the world today it’s easy to begin to wonder how things could possibly get any worse. Most of us go about our day working, doing chores, running errands, and checking things off our to-do list. Some of you may even be trying your hand at home schooling, depending on your unique circumstances during this global pandemic.

I learned a long time ago that as far as life goes, “It’s never as good as it seems and it’s never as bad as it seems.” We can get so caught up in the worldviews and distractions that we may not realize there are so many others who have it far worse than any of us could even imagine.

Ten years ago, I was invited to participate in a conference call with some of my closest friends in business and in ministry. Together, we came up with the idea to “combine” all our giving to help others who were hurting and in need. Out of that one call, the Women World Changers Ministry was birthed - a movement that states that together we can help make a difference and impact the world, one life at a time.

As we embarked on this project, we were blindsided with the “shock and awe” of reality as we discovered how much of a stronghold Satan has on our youth in this country and in this world. We studied how he was working to dismantle the family unit with divorce and infiltrate our churches and our youth via television, movies, the internet, and social media. Even more shocking was learning the extent to which the business of child sex trafficking had invaded the United States. Our children were hot commodities. Child sex trafficking is the largest and most lucrative Industry in the world, generating over $1.5 billion annually. Over 800,000 children go missing every year in the USA alone.

Where do they go? Why does the media not cover this?

The sex and human trafficking trade is more lucrative than drugs or weapons trafficking. As Women World Changers, we were overwhelmed with emotion when we learned of the ages of the boys and girls…yes, even boys. Boys are actually worth more money. We researched and found two child sex trafficking rescue ministries that we could support, and the war was on to protect God’s children. We quickly grew to over 300 members in six months!

God was lifting the veil for us to see where His children needed help! We were being called to Stand in the Gap. “Perhaps you were made for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14, NLT)

God in all His glory had cleared a path to help us create awareness. We were called to Stand Up, Speak Up & Save Lives! Hungry to learn, on our first WWC call we featured Rebecca, a former child trafficking victim at the age of 14. She shared her story of being groomed by her boyfriend who she thought was 16 but was really 19. He kidnapped her, drugged her daily, starved her, and sold her to be raped by men - as many as twelve times a day! She was threatened with her own death if she tried to escape and threatened with the death of her family if she talked. After four years of being a sex slave, she was rescued by an undercover police officer and returned to her parents. By a miracle of God, Rebecca came to know Christ through her ordeal. His grace and love helped her turn her life around. We raised thousands of dollars that day to help fund her radio show to raise awareness for child sex trafficking – which became the most highly rated show two years in a row. The rest is history. Stay tuned…

The enemy wants to keep us distracted in our lives and keep us ignorant of his evil schemes. The enemy is wanting us to shut up, but God is saying Stand Up, Speak Up and Save more Lives!! If you want to join us, there is still work to be done! Please go to www. Womenworldchangers.org for more information or to join our movement. Once you have signed up, you will receive information for our next ZOOM call, as well as updates on our current and future projects with our partners. May God continue to bless this movement and continue to find those who are willing to STAND UP, SPEAK UP AND SAVE MORE LIVES.
