MEET KIMBERLY EWELL FROM MOUNT DORA, FLORIDA To everything, there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV) If I had to choose my favorite season, it would be fall. Something about fall weather causes me to be still, sit back, and reflect on what God has been doing in my life as I continue to walk and grow in Him. My journey with the Lord has been in seasons. Fall is a time to be in His presence more and to be more purposeful. This is where my pruning takes place in preparation for the next season. Some may think the pruning process is challenging; yes, it can be. However, we are to count it with all joy. I find joy in what the Lord has done through the challenges, the heartaches, and loneliness. Joy and peace permeate my heart as I reflect on His goodness. My heart sings, “Glory, Glory to you, oh Lord, how gracious you are to me.” My seasons have been a time to die to self, A time to heal, A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;… A time to embrace,… A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away;… A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love,… And a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:3-8 NKJV) God is purposeful in the seasons we are in! In these times, I couldn’t see what the Lord was doing on the inside of me, let alone know what He had been 98
preparing me for all along. My seasons of pruning and refining have brought me to where I am today—to my purpose. It’s no accident that someone has placed this Voice of Truth magazine in your hand. Like you, a friend, Candice Daniels, gave me a Voice of Truth magazine and told me I had a story to share. That afternoon, I went to the Lord and said, “Lord, if you want me to share my story, I will. Just let me know.” Moments later, I opened VOT and saw, “A Call to Writers.” Things progressed rapidly after Candice introduced me to Kimberly Hobbs; I entered a new season and wrote in my first book, Surrendered: Yielded with Purpose. Then I wrote in Miracle Mindset: Finding Hope in the Chaos, and there are more books to come. The season I’m in, the NOW, has brought me to a new place of PURPOSE. I’ve gained a precious friend in Kimberly. Her encouragement has lifted me high and helped me move forward into my PURPOSE, which is writing and sharing my stories with other women. I’ve been blessed to meet other women through WWL who I can call my friends. I have found a place of unity, love, encouragement, and purpose. Whatever season you are in, count it all JOY and know that God is leading you into your PURPOSE!
