Year 6: All Things Generative. Generativity is the principle of investing one’s efforts in life and work that will outlive us. As someone who created this event and collection six years ago as a means to build community in response to a sort of world-wide contraction, I cannot think of a better principle upon which to rest this year’s collection. If last year was about celebration, this year is all about work. And work we have the dyers and designers have continued to overcome all manner of delay, setback, and work/life imbalances to bring you another amazing set of designs perfect for summer makes. With a color palette of soothing tones plus a liberal sprinkling of bold summer shades, with designs in both knit and crochet, I am confident that everyone can find at least one design to sink their respective hooks and sticks into. Additionally, this collection is one, big, texture fest! In fact, the textures of these designs all but jump off the page. So get your summer making tools ready, fire up your device with that ultimate summer play list, and join us as we MAL in the summer of 2022 the makes (and the fiber memories) will live long after the MAL ends!
