The Tree Hub Glasgow’s Gateway to Scotland’s Trees

We’re on cloud nine about our “Tree Hub” in Glasgow Botanic Gardens

We’d like you to join us!

What is it ?

The Friends of Glasgow Botanic Gardens are collaborating with the National Tree Collections of Scotland to promote Scotland’s rich and important tree collections. They are among the most diverse tree collections in the world, and many of the trees species they contain are rare or under threat in the wild. The Glasgow project has three main parts:

The Tree Trail

Now completed with 20 of the most important trees in the Gardens, to be seen along the trail with the assistance of a descriptive leaflet and QR symbols being added to provide more extensive information.

Education

The staff in the Gardens are vital. Through their talks and tours they bring to life the importance of our trees and the valuable contribution played by the early Scottish plant hunters including David Douglas, who collected 240 other species.

The Tree Hub

This is the principal information point in the Gardens, linking Glasgow with all major tree collections throughout Scotland. The iconic tree sculpture (which has full planning consent) rises to a height of 6m with a roof cover, symbolising the trees around it and light streaming through random glazed panels, creating an exciting modern space for quiet reflection.

Join Us At The Tree Hub

Our fundraising campaign is now well advanced and there is now the opportunity for families and local companies to join us, for which we can offer three levels of support:

For a single contribution of £5000, an information cone will be exclusively dedicated to your company/organisation/family with the name/title/logo being permanently inscribed on the cone panel.

Silver - Family or Organisation Sponsorship

Bronze - Individual Sponsership

If you wish to make a smaller donation to this a mazing Tree Hub, then this will be greatly appreciated by the Friends of Glasgow Botanic Gardens.
