FALL ARTS PREVIEW

IN THE CHIPPEWA VALLEY, summer is the time for music in the open air, both at big festivals and small outdoor gigs. Once the nip of fall is in the air, however, we head indoors for our entertainment – seek ing enjoyment in the theaters and arts centers, large and small, that grace our region. We’re luck that this fall, the cultural calendar in the Chippewa Valley is both broad and deep, encompassing everything from

big-name Broadway musicals to well-loved stars, from global dance troupes to homegrown comics. In the following pages, you’ll see the best of what the coming months offer in terms of music, theater, visual arts, comedy, and the spoken word. Her music has embraced punk, funk, hip hop, jazz, soul, electronica, and even more distant sounds. Her lyrics are rhythmic and poetic, often autobiographical, and strongly political.
