A LETTER FROM THE
PANHELLENIC EXECUTIVE BOARD
Dear Potential New Member,
Welcome to Panhellenic sorority life at Georgia College and State University! We extend a warm welcome to you as you begin this week long journey of finding your home. The years you spend at Georgia College will be exceptional but perhaps none will be as transformative or remarkable as being a member of a Greek organization. The Panhellenic community at Georgia College is excited to have you!
Recruitment allows PNMs the opportunity to meet sorority women and learn about each chapter, Panhellenic, and the Greek community at Georgia College.
We encourage you to join Recruitment with an open mind and take this opportunity to learn what it means to be a well-rounded Panhellenic woman. We hope that throughout this week you can envision yourself as a part of our close-knit Panhellenic community.
No matter which sorority you choose to join, the Panhellenic friendships you will form will be lifelong. We believe that your presence and contributions have the ability to enhance the spirit of sisterhood and unity that we hold dear
We eagerly await the chance to welcome you into fall Recruitment! Remember to be yourself, keep an open mind, and enjoy the eternity of the week! Go Greek!
With love, Panhellenic Executive BoardMEET THE

WHAT TO EXPECT
ROUND ONE
MEET AND GREET AUGUST 11-12
During the first round of events, PNMs will visit all eight sorority houses at Georgia College accompanied by your recruitment group. Meet and Greet parties take place over two days, August 11th and 12th and PNMs will attend four houses each day. This round will introduce you to all the chapters on campus and their amazing chapter women. Each event will begin with the chapter members performing loud, enthusiastic chants and cheers. Don't be intimidated by the noise, the chapter members are only excited to meet you! After getting settled in the house, you will spend the remainder of the party meeting different sisters and talking to members about yourself. Don't hesitate to ask sorority women questions about themselves or the chapter because this round will go quickly! During this round, chapter members want to get to know you, who you are, and what you value.
In terms of what to wear, PNMs typically wear sundresses, skirts, or rompers for Round One. Lightweight materials are encouraged because this will be one of the longer days in the heat. You will be walking the majority of the day; therefore, choose sandals or flats over heels. Throughout the week we encourage PNMs to wear what you are comfortable in, and do not feel pressu drobe!!
WHAT TO EXPECT
ROUND TWO
PHILANTHROPY AUGUST 13
Round Two is focused on each sorority's philanthropy. Each PNM has the chance to visit up to six parties maximum on this day. During this event, chapter members will discuss the ways that they are involved with their specific philanthropies. You will learn about women's involvement both on campus and within the surrounding Milledgeville community. Some chapters may choose to show a video showcasing their philanthropy or some others may introduce you to their Philanthropy Chair. Each chapter may showcase its philanthropy differently, but be sure to ask about its philanthropy activities, how chapters are involved with the Georgia College campus and their many service projects. You will learn more about each sorority's values on this day and we encourage you to think about what you would like to be involved in and how your personal values align with each chapter.
During this round
l be provided with a Panhellenic t-shi ording to your preference. Your e information on the t-shirt as we get e suggest that you avoid denim by w orts!
WHAT TO EXPECT
ROUND THREE
SISTERHOOD AUGUST 14
During Round Three, PNMs will get a glimpse into each sorority's sisterhood. On this day each PNM will attend four parties maximum. Chapter women on this day want to know how you would fit into their sisterhood, so they may ask questions related to your values, goals, and what you value in your friendships. You will watch a video from each chapter that reflects sisterhood, friendship, and fun! This round focuses on building meaningful connections and fostering relationships between you and active members. The hope of this round is that you be able to determine if there is a mutual fit between you and the sorority. You will see the supportive and empowering environments that each sorority offers through sisterhood! The chapters will also present financial presentations during the round where you will learn details about their financial dues and scholarship opportunities.
This day will have the same attire as Philanthropy Round, but you will be provided with another t-shirt!
WHAT TO EXPECT
ROUND
F0UR
PREFERENCE AUGUST 15
The last day of Recruitment is Preferential Round (Pref). The events are longer than the previous rounds and if invited, you may attend up to two parties. The goal of this round is to help you make your final decision at selections. If you get invited back that means the sorority truly enjoys your company and wants to continue to get to know you. During each ceremony, think carefully about how you feel at each house and take time to picture yourself as a member, as the women could become your sisters! The sororities will present the Preference Ceremony which typically contains songs and speeches from sisters. The speeches may reflect on what it means to be a sister and all the sorority has to offer. When making your final decision after Pref, reflect on the previous rounds of Recruitment and remember that there is not one "right" choice! Listen to yourself and how you have felt in each house throughout the week.
In terms of what to wear, Preferential Round is dressier than the previous rounds. Chapter women will be dressed in "pin attire", which is comparable to wedding attire or interview attire. You want to look and feel your best!
WHAT TO EXPECT
BID DAY AUGUST 16
The week comes to an end on Bid Day! On this day you may receive an invitation to join or you may be notified by you Pi Chi that your bid selections have not been matched. If your bid was not matched you will be eligible for continuous open bidding (COB). More information will be provided by your Pi Chis and can be found on GC Panhellenic's Instagram if you chose to COB. If you receive an invitation to join your bid card, given to you by your Pi Chi, which will list the sorority that has selected you. Your Pi Chi will give you details on when and where to meet up with your group on this day. If you receive a bid, you will be greeted at Centennial by your new sisters. You may then continue to meet sisters and celebrate at your new sorority house. Bid Day is for fun, new friendships, and lifelong memories!
On this day you will be given a Bid Day t-shirt from Panhellenic. Pair this t-shirt with any comfortable athleisure wear of your choice! It is advised that you wear a sports bra or camisols under the t-shirt because if given a bid you will change into a new top given to you by your sorority. Wear comfortable sneakers or shoes on Bid Day!
