Response

To produce some album artwork for Kirsty McQue a student from Leeds College of Music for her most recent EP. The produced artwork is for ‘Falling’ ‘Nightfall’ & ‘You and I’. The work will also be shown in LCAxLCM exhibition at Nation of Shopkeepers.

The chosen concept behind the artwork came from Kirsty’s love of feathers and how she is associated with them to other people. The album artwork will reflect her ambient and floaty style of music.

Background Information

Research & Inspiration

Kirsty McQue is a student from Leeds College of Art whos music style reflects an ambient style. The album art produced will be applied to soundcloud facebook , and other promotional platforms for the artist.

The research for the brief has been carefully considered. Taking inspiration from various artists existing album artwork and the theme of feathers looking at a digital and photo manipulation.

Development The development consisted of photo manipulation To achieve a feather theme throughout the album artwork. Photography was used to take images of real and different textures and gradients were applied to achieve the final artwork. feathers with different textures, patterns and sizes.

Final Products The final products include the album art for the EP which an existing photograph has been used. The other artwork has been produced for existing tracks from the EP such as - Nightfall, Falling & You&I. 04
