EVALUATIONFor this brief i designed variations for the client of an invitation with the given content. This is one of the first briefs i have done for a client i think it went well as she was very happy with the final outcome. The colours given to me were ivory and Silver which i was pleased about i didn’t want to be designing something that was intended to look very commercial as at this stage i am not sure how i would approach it. When working with my client she was really good in the sense that she would reply at a fast pace so i was never waiting around and i could just get on with designing and creating more variations but i did face a difficulty with my brief the client originally asked for a contemporary theme but i ended up designing something traditional after different suggestions made by the client. That is one of the most important things i have learned through the responsive module is that sometimes people are not sure what they actually want so you need to persist and try more variations until they are happy. At one point in the brief i suggested to my client that she should go for the a variation which i was pleased as the style she wanted was going to have more of a wedding invitation aesthetic. The client wasn’t very pleased with my suggestion so i kept creating variations until she was happy. The final outcome was very traditional it with large script font and serif typeface for the content. Its not usually my strongest point designing in the way i have for the invitation so I’m not particularly pleased with the outcome and it wasn’t my favorite brief. I think this has given me the incentive to try different methods of design rather than sticking to the same aesthetics and methods. I have been very lucky to get the opportunity to work with a client and i have gained experience i can apply to later briefs.
