Wooden ramps that take you onto the beach are located at 8th, 17th, 24th, and 30th Streets, along with Grommet Island Beach Park & Playground, the first fully accessible beach playground. Water edge access cannot be guaranteed at all wooden walkways due to weather and the condition of the beach. Ramps are extended as far as possible given the condition of the beach and time of year. Metered parking is free for up to four hours for the disabled. Beach wheelchairs are available in the r esort area on a first come, first served basis from mid-May to mid-September. There's more than one way to get to Atlantic Avenue and the oceanfront. To avoid traffic congestion, we suggest the Birdneck Road, 22E, exit off Interstate 264.
