Introducing the newest addition to the Multivac Product Sales Management team, Lewis Pascoe.
Lewis joins us from the Multivac service team where he has occupied the role of slicing technical specialist and has been key to getting the product into new customers and markets

Having previously served as an international slicing service technician with Marel and a multiskilled maintenance technician at one of our key customers Karro Haverhill Lewis was the perfect fit for the Product Management team where we continue to utilise superior technical knowledge and turn this into sales.
He is also a huge Tottenham Hotspur supporter, but they do say nobody is perfect!
Slicing technology
At present it is an exciting and pivotal time for slicing as the MUWO development team continue to introduce new technology enabling us to leapfrog our competition to offer something truly unique into the market.
The new RX4.0 Integrated slicer horizontal loader and the super soft blade launch are great examples of where we will look to innovate and grow in the coming months giving us USP’ s to exploit.
First Order
I would personally like to congratulate Lewis on already winning his first order that he has received from Quorn foods. This is interesting because he was able to support the trials as a technician and then convert the final order already in his new role. It definitely takes most of us much longer than a few weeks to get our first PO so well done!
Processing Team
The processing team that Lewis will slot into also announced strategic changes recently within the structure which includes my appointment to ‘Business Unit Manager Processing ’ .
This now means that the TVI and Multivac Slicing products will fall under one umbrella with processing from a sales and marketing perspective
This strategic change is designed to give the business greater flexibility on ‘ processing ’ which will enable us to support better, quicker and stronger with the unprecedented demand for our machinery and knowledge
As part of the new structure was a commitment towards having a dedicated Marketing manager on board to proactively push the rapidly evolving opportunities direct to our customers where we need them. Unfortunately, Alesha who would have done this role has moved on in her career, but we will look to replace this position with time to continue the great work previously done.
Transition period
This initial period taking us into Q4 2022 will be one of transition for all of our team as we look to accelerate our learnings on all processing products through cross product training and exposure where possible.
Once complete however, this should give us the strength and breadth to introduce the new look processing team in Q1 2023 where we can begin to flex this muscle and work smarter for our customers and the rest of the MUUK team.
Please wish myself and the rest of the team the best of luck!

The Future of Standard Solutions
After a long development process, Standard solutions were uploaded to Fluix in October 2020. Unfortunately, as we went through the pandemic and an increasing projects workload, we became increasingly unsure if they were being used as the one pager/concepts were taking off.
Early this year we sent out a questionnaire to the sales team, to understand what our next steps should be. After receiving the great feedback we realised a revival was in order.
We are now in the process of creating a new range of standard solutions. Liaising with Fritsch, we are able to add new budget solutions for their “ standard” lines.
Updating to the new TX range of Traysealers, available where applicable, should give the existing solutions a facelift with speeds and formats. There will also be the addition of generic ready meal solutions with Multihead weighers and depositors. All while streamlining the current solutions to remove the excess that aren ’t being used.
As some may be aware projects were able to get Solidworks 3D software and training. To put this to good use we will be incorporating 3D drawings into the new standard solutions to give an extra wow factor. These will also be available in the library of 3D lines that will be available on Fluix, for easy access, to show off to the customer separate to the standard solutions.
We were made aware, in the answers of the questionnaire, that our solutions are not always completely linear. As we originally tried to highlight automation for all speeds, we ended up having expensive case packers and palletisers on low speed lines. This will be adjusted with realistic solutions being a priority. The automation will be included but as an option so as to not overinflate the pricing unnecessarily.
The biggest part of this revival is creating Secon configurations, where possible, for the solutions enabling easy updates and accuracy for the future. For the thermoformer solutions, this also means accurate drawings taken from Secon.
These new Standard solutions should be ready to release by the end of the year, after the price update, ready for 2023.
