Kei te hiahia mātou ngā Remana Headline in English: We want lemons. Rachel Orr’s real fruit ice-creams are such a hit she’s turned a part time side-business into a full time gig, but she’s missing one key ingredient -- lemons. You see, among Rachel’s more popular icecream is a lemon flavour. Usually she is inundated with lemons to wash, bash and prepare for her ice-cream, but this year she’s a little short and is putting the word out for homegrown lemons. And she’s even willing to swap them for one of her famous ice-creams. “I’d be happy to give an ice-cream voucher for some lemons,” she says. “I’m desperate.” Rachel’s “Get Real Fruit Ice-cream” cart, was built in Richmond and Hope and is usually parked at Tahuna Beach. “We get so busy in summer, we’ve been there for three years now and it’s such a great vibe down there.” Rachel says she needs the lemons now because she’s far too busy in the summer to process them. Anyone with lemons that they’d be willing to donated to Rachel can call her on 544 5618 and she’d be thrilled to come and pick them up.
