There were screams of “it’s cold”, “it’s so cold,” and “it’s so ridiculously cold!” from Waimea College students at their mid-winter swim. On Friday lunch time, around 60 students and a couple of staff braved nine degree waters to try
and earn bragging rights over the other houses. Students only had to dart across the width of the pool, and most were out in just a matter of seconds, before running off to hot showers. But they certainly felt the chilling
