Royal bride uses our honey for beauty What Tasman people use to spread on their toast new royal Kate Middleton has reportedly been spreading on her face – much to the surprise and delight of the local producers. The New Zealand Herald reported that the royal bride may have been using Nelson bee venom in a face treatment ahead of her wedding to Prince William late last month. The Bee Venom Mask, supposedly an alternative to botox, is used by the Prince’s stepmother, Camilla, and is also reported to be used by Dannii Minogue, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gwyneth Paltrow. The mask is said to work by gently stinging the skin, leaving a tingling sensation and causing the body to direct blood flow to the area, reported the Herald. It claims to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which reduce wrinkles by relaxing and strengthening muscles. And the main ingredient of the mask is Nectar Ease, a type of manuka honey made by Nelson Honey for the past three decades. Its general manager Terry Bone says the company was surprised to learn its role in the royal wedding but says it does sell a lot of honey to the founder of the Bee Venom Mask in the UK, Deborah Mitchell. “We were shocked and surprised but since news broke we’ve been flat out, the phone has gone off the hook.
